I'm a fairly recent enthusiast of cemetery photography. I suspect becoming a site contributor and photo volunteer was inevitable.|
I live in the Cumberland Mountains of Tennessee. My involvement in the Society for Creative Anachronism (the "SCA") means that I travel to other states - notably Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
When possible, I now "fit in" cemetery photography sessions while away from home.
Most of the memorials I have made are for people I am not related to. They've come about from picture-taking adventures and subsequently learning that no memorial existed. When appropriate, I add photographs to existing memorials.
A good number of the memorials I manage but did not make are my family. Some were created before I came along and were kindly transferred to me by other contributors who are not related to them. Others originated from the U.S. Veterans Affairs Office and were transferred to me by Find A Grave Administration.
A couple of memorials I now manage are of non-relatives for whom I suggested rather extensive editing based on information I had gathered ... and the non-relative originator chose to transfer management to me.
If you find that one of your relatives has a memorial made by me, I'll be happy to transfer management - WITHIN the 4-generation direct relationship guidelines as given in the Find A Grave FAQ. --->> Please do specify your exact relationship in the SAC! <<---
FAQ #162 states that the 4-generation direct relationships are as follow: "This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren."
Kindly DO NOT copy my photographs for use on other websites. Yes, I ***REALLY*** DO mean: DON'T post photographs that I have taken to Ancestry.com or to any other site.
Copyright for images posted to Find A Grave remains with the photographer, who in this case reserves the right to not permit further sharing on the Internet.

Thanks for the quick response. My wife's relatives are from Yell Co, AR and I have been corresponding with the Valentines who now live in Oregon. I am currently updating her Welch Family info which includes many of Gilbert and Sarah jane Welch Valentine's descendants. Once I get my info updated, would you be willing to verify the info i have. Also, if you know of any others who are researching the Valentines, you can have them contact me. I read somewhere that you have an ancestry.com site. Can you tell me under what name so I can compare info.
You recently added Memorial 171202472 for Joyce Falgoust Lafontaine. her Father was not John Nash Falgoust but rather John H. Falgoust Sr. 20 Oct 1909 - 22 Feb 2001 also buried at St Peter Mausoleum.
John H Falgoust and John Nash Falgoust are not the same.

I have noticed that you have a lot of info on the Valentine Family. Are you related? My wife is related through Sarah Jane Welch Valentine, wife of Gilbert. I have a lot of info on this family that I would like verified.

I just wanted to acknowledge the timely posting of a friend's sister's memorial... While connecting her late husband (Alfred Grant, Sr.)'s findagrave record to his ancestry.com record in my files, I noticed that his wife's profile had been added Oct.13, 2016 a few days after her death (Oct. 8th) --and you also left a flower icon on today. Her funeral had not even happened yet -- she is scheduled for burial on tomorrow (Oct. 15th) at St. Philip Catholic Church Cemetery. At first I thought you were a relative...but then I noticed your findagrave profile and read who dedicated you are to the task. THANK YOU on behalf of the family. Although I'm not a direct relative, our community is very closely related and I belong to the same fraternal assembly as one of her brothers. Just thought I'd reflect on the coincidence of it all... I have looked several times for this grave.
I have in fact photographed every grave for a cemetery census and written a cemetery tour for this cemetery. I found the family grouping called out in the obituary but I cannot find a new grave here and no new grave. I think it just be unmarked.
