Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm a fairly recent enthusiast of cemetery photography. I suspect becoming a site contributor and photo volunteer was inevitable.

I live in the Cumberland Mountains of Tennessee. My involvement in the Society for Creative Anachronism (the "SCA") means that I travel to other states - notably Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

When possible, I now "fit in" cemetery photography sessions while away from home.

Most of the memorials I have made are for people I am not related to. They've come about from picture-taking adventures and subsequently learning that no memorial existed. When appropriate, I add photographs to existing memorials.

A good number of the memorials I manage but did not make are my family. Some were created before I came along and were kindly transferred to me by other contributors who are not related to them. Others originated from the U.S. Veterans Affairs Office and were transferred to me by Find A Grave Administration.

A couple of memorials I now manage are of non-relatives for whom I suggested rather extensive editing based on information I had gathered ... and the non-relative originator chose to transfer management to me.

If you find that one of your relatives has a memorial made by me, I'll be happy to transfer management - WITHIN the 4-generation direct relationship guidelines as given in the Find A Grave FAQ. --->> Please do specify your exact relationship in the SAC! <<---

FAQ #162 states that the 4-generation direct relationships are as follow: "This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren."

Kindly DO NOT copy my photographs for use on other websites. Yes, I ***REALLY*** DO mean: DON'T post photographs that I have taken to Ancestry.com or to any other site.

Did you create this memorial? I am working on this family line and have some information that may be useful. Would you care to collaborate? I have a researcher who is finding original records. He says you or whoever made the profiles obviously have personal information and may be interested in the documents.

Barbara McGrew
I am trying to locate a grave for a friend of mine. His great-grandparents was George and Barbara McGrew. I found this obituary online that places her in this cemetery. Any help would be appreciated. I am not sure about the other deceases relatives or those listed as living in this article that may have sense passed. My friend knows absolutely nothing about his heritage and his parents are no help.

RE: Site naming conventions for Spanish surnames
Hi. If you add names in "Not famous" section, you can add only father's name or both (father and mother) in "last name". The difference I think is when you search someone. If you have added the name with both, the system is not able to find just looking with the first, except in your personal section. Sorry for my very bad English...

Hi, Tangent. Will you consider transferring these graves to me so I can write a bio for them. They were good friends of mine during my time growing up in Macon. Thank you. If you don't want to transfer them, I will understand. Thanks, again.

Then again . . .
. . . maybe that isn't a temporary marker. It is so white it looks like paper. I enlarged it and maybe it is a permanent marker. I don't understand why they told me she's not there, unless that is a cenotaph.

By the way, I once saw the SCA in action at a local park. Very cool.

RE: Muriel Bodek
Ah, yes! I've been in touch with him; he's been very active at that cemetery. That looks like a temporary marker, though. I've taken many photos myself at Hillside, but I've never seen one like that, a temporary marker with both names on it. That is interesting. I'm glad you got a photo, at least.

The office staff told me that she is definitely not buried there, so you may want to call them yourself and if you believe they are in error, ask if you can email them that photo and explain to you why her name is on a marker!

Best regards,

B.J.
