|I am a North Londoner of Irish Protestant and Anglo-Indian (or, to be more accurate, Hiberno-Caledonian-Anglo-Dutch-Huguenot-Indian) parentage. I was trained as a mathematician but, at the moment, am working only part-time. I have travelled a lot; not only around the British Isles, but also throughout: Europe; Africa; America (North only; I have yet to cross the Rio Grande, never mind the Panama Canal, although I did, once, venture across the Forty-Ninth Parallel for a month, and should like to go back to Canada again, sometime); Asia; and Australia. Unfortunately, most of those voyages were undertaken before the invention of the digital camera, so I can't show you too many of the graves I saw when I was abroad. When I am not travelling or working, or painting or acting, I am learning to play the piano and various woodwind instruments. I try to keep my body fit with cycling and swimming and karate, as well as by never drinking alcohol, or smoking, or eating flesh, or fowl, or fish, and I try to keep my mind fit with chess and crosswords and reading.|
Please note; I am forever running around this world (as Jefferson Airplane once sang), and seldom check the computer when I am on my wanderings; but, if you write to me, I shall make sure that I answer on my return.

Thank you so much for taking a picture of my 2nd's cousin's grave Georgie Cornell. Now I know where he is buried and it gives my mother great joy to know where her cousin was buried. Thank you

Thanks for adding.
Which is good for researching navy history/memorials.

|Donald T||Corporal Stuart Cameron Pennyfuir Cemetry, Oban|
John Cameron, Stuart's father was my grandmother's cousin.
My father used to talk about the farm, Gallanachbeg south of Oban that his relations farmed.
Gallanachbeg is the correct spelling of "Callanachose" which you showed as the inscription on the headstone.
Thanks for the photograph. It adds to my families history.

You are totally correct Cav is the abbreviation for Cavalry. The ASC/RASC had HT Horse Transport, MT Mechanical Transport, SAA Small Arms Ammunition as well as Cavalry Supply. I think the M2 in his Regimental Number suggest he was a late joiner to the ASC and might of been part of motor/mechanical transport for No. 1 Cav. Div. Supply Col?

For actor Barry Fitzgerald, the photo uploaded isn't for him, but for William J. Shields.
