Actor, Writer, Educator, and Genealogist Rodney Tyrone Snell was born 10 May 1966 in Long Branch, New Jersey to a 15 year-old mother. Raised by his maternal grandparents, he learned the identity of his birth father in 2016. He attended Long Branch Public Schools, graduating high school in 1984. He worked in retail sales until 1991 when he was awarded a settlement for wrongful termination. He began taking courses and earned an Associate in Arts degree from Brookdale Community College in 1994. He continued undergraduate education and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Emerson College in 1997.
