I have recently been coping with a bunch of computer crashes. Well, specifically I am on my third laptop and having to resurrect a good deal of data. So I may have lost emails anybody sent for corrections. Actually, I promise you that I did and I apologize for appearing rude! Please bear with me and feel free to send any again if you check and I did not correct something!
I am a rabid genealogist who just wants to help other people find burial records online. Maybe others will add stuff I need too! I am not necessarily related to the people in the postings I make except in Clear Creek Cemetery, where the likelihood is far higher I am related to somebody buried there because almost everyone in there is related to each other somehow and I am related to so many of them.
I am adding genealogical information on gravesites as I can. I make no claims of perfection, however, and I try to put information that I have other sources for to be as accurate as possible, but verify it with other sources if you use it for your own research. It is only common sense to do so!
I view my efforts at adding genealogical data as leads for the family to find their relative. If you request it, I can and usually will transfer a memorial over for you to edit as you wish. Keep in mind that I dog out to cemeteries to take pictures and then I edit the pictures and do cursory research to add whatever leads I can to the biographies of the graves. I am a volunteer, not paid and often not even thanked for doing this except once when somebody with manners said thank you instead of telling me what I got wrong! Almost everyone posting graves on here in volume are trying to add records for families searching for loved ones and ancestors, a totally generous impulse as none of them are paid researchers for the site and graveyards are not the most temperate place to stand around taking pictures. Plus, if I add info, I am using my own subscriptions to genealogy sites that I paid for to find these things that viewers then get for free. So keep that in mind before you complain and criticize what is on the memorial page. We grave hunters are generally very nice people, after all!
Hey, go visit my nephew's memorial, Geoffrey Alan Sartain, if you get a chance. We miss him so much and I want to show him off to the world! Thanks!
