Russ, I find a great article in GenBank.com on the last letter written by Brinton to his mother. According to it, he died July 29, 1918 and buried in France, but must have been brought back in 1921. Are you interested in the article? Paper of Feb. 24, 1919 Phila. Inquirer. Also, in the Laurel Hill listings the 1918 stone is pictured on Burton D. Buck, d. 1939. Jane
|With All My Love ☮ & 💙💛||Leslie Erin Mahaffy's Memorial|
I don't know whom to ask, but since people have messaged you about Find A Grave questions here, I hope you don't mind if I do too. In the past week, Leslie Mahaffy's memorial has been taken down. Can you shed any light on this subject? It was created about a decade ago and had about 1,000 virtual flowers. Someone submitted a new memorial with a famous status and it was approved a day or two ago, is it be possible to merge the two memorials. I wouldn't want all those beautiful virtual flowers/tributes in Leslie's loving memory created over the past decade to go away. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure I was the sponsor of her previous memorial. Thanks in advance for any or all your help.
|Susan S||Cemetery location|
Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Winona County MN is incorrectly listed as being in New Hartford which is 6 1/2 miles east of its actual location in Dakota MN. I have been there many times, the most recent being this summer when I photographed the entry gate and some of the same headstones that are supposedly in New Hartford. I hope this can be corrected for the sake of those who will be wandering around New Hartford looking for the cemetery!
Love Find A Grave and thanks a bunch.

|Mayrose||information about a non deceased person|
I am writing to you to hopefully get some information on a message removed. My estranged mother is posting information on my grandson and daughter that is not public information. Also it is not information given to her by me or my daughter. So I am copying and pasting these messages to hopefully have them deleted. My estranged mother has never met my children or grandchild and we appreciate any help in this matter.
Here are the messages:
Still in our prayers
I have to tell you your great-grandson makes me green with envy. I have a new great-grandson also. He was born on Labor Day last year. I have not physically seen him yet. Conner and his parents live in Maine, alas I reside in Nebraska. Really, I'm happy that you are able to have Jovanni for a time. I know he is good medicine for you. Enjoy him and the rest of your family while you can. They grow so fast and move away so quickly to start their own lives. You and Clair are lucky to be so blessed. You are always in our prayers. You have given us all strength and courage. Now you take strength in God and us that all things happen in their due time. Keep believing in the power of prayer.

RE: Still in our prayers
Oh I wish you could be with your great grandson too. I know he would bring you great joy. Jovanni really is good medicine for me and has kept me going.
My family has always been so close, many people who know us comment on how they wish they had a close family. I worried about when our children grew up they might move miles away from us. They all live within 6-10 miles away from us. We really are blessed.
When my parents were alive the children and I was at their house every day. The only time I missed was when we went on a vacation. Then they wanted us to call everyday so we did. Keep the prayers coming I need all the prayers I can get. I was so blessed to live in a Christian home. Hugs, Ann

hoping you can merge 2 memorials, my earlier one and one with a bunch of attachments.
My memorial is # 43277503 with headstone created in 2009
second one created by a relative this year is # 124758271 and it has all attachments and a bunch of pictures of Edwin Robbins.
I don't mind it being transferred to the relative, but I would like to see the headstone picture I took on the memorial.

Yoopergal was my aunt. She passed in May 2011, how do I find her sites and change the contact to me? I have picked up where she left off.
|genie-in-az||Duplicate Cemeteries & Memorials|
Sigh, sorry, had those dates reversed in previous post...it is the first one #16452209 created in 2006, and the other one # 90904286 created in 2012. Just fyi.
Just FYI- Since you are listed as a F.A.G. Senior Curator; I recently came across duplicate cemeteries in Virginia created by F.A.G. contributors which has a least 50 of the same people listed. One is called "Shiloh Church Cemetery" and the other is called "Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery". The first one with memorials was created on F.A.G. as early as 2006, the second contributor failed to check closely enough and duplicated many memorials by creating the second cemetery on F.A.G. using a slightly different name , and listing many of the same people already listed in the first one. Someone needs to merge all those duplicates. I am seeing a lot of that type of duplication actually, as F.A.G. becomes more and more popular. One reason for the error was that the same cemetery is listed by these contributors as being in two different counties (the county line ran right by the cemetery, apparently). As one example of many duplicates in these 2 cemeteries, refer to Find A Grave Memorial# 90904286 in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in 2006, and his duplicate memorial #16452209 entered in Shiloh Church Cemetery in 2012. I have alerted the creator of the cemetery and memorials done in 2012, and she confirms being now aware of the prolific duplications she created but declines to take them down or merge then using the edit function to the original memorials. Therefore, this is one of the rare instances when I think for the sake of accuracy and trying to keep this site from becoming cluttered with a proliferation of duplicates, the F.A.G. admins should step in to do some cleanup work. Thank you.
