I have been doing family Geneaology for about twelve years. I began with oral family history. My siblings and I have continued to move forward. I am the family researcher, that is my role. I have collected documents onsite and online. Documents which either support or reject the family stories. What fun, putting the pieces of the puzzle together. I have made connection with several family members while searching also.

I was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. many family members, classmates,co-workers and friends are buried in Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines, Iowa.

Our Shepherd family tradition began in 1944. Both immediate and extended family members go to Glendale on Memorial Day to honor our loved ones.

A few weeks ago, a cousin e-mailed me a link which led me to Findagrave website. I opened the link and found posted a photo of the Cemetery, and the tombstone of my maternal g-grandmother Mary (Lindsey)Johnson, with g-mother Mamie Johnson and grandfather William George Finley. Old City Cemetery, now Crown Hill, Boonville, Mo. G-randmother Mary Lindey's brother Wilbert, Civil War Veteran, Mo, Crown Hill, Cemetery
