RE: Memorial# 69941594 (Clarence Gatchell) My records showed no indication that he was married more than once, and email communications from family members never did mention such a situation. With the additional information you have given me I will be glad to add a link to your grandmother as the second wife of Clarence. However, when I processed the edits, the information regarding her memorial was removed. I need that information again, please. Darlene
H. V. Liddle Photo Request You asked in your request, "Any Liddle surnames near by?" H.V. Liddle is the only Liddle in the cemetery. The Mare Island Museum staff has documented all the burials in this cemetery so those already listed are the only known burials here.
If you have any questions, Joyce Giles (the memorial manager) would be the person to contact. This is her "baby."
Baker, Chico Cem You left a flower for Louis Baker (you and I previously corresponded on the Baker family members at Durham Cem) ... I found the following today, which may be of help to you:
Chico Weekly Enterprise, Friday Evening, October 21, 1898, pg 2 col 7: Louis Baker. Died Yesterday Afternoon at His Residence in Chapmantown. Yesterday afternoon, at about 4:30 o’clock Louis Baker, a resident of Chapmantown, aged 57 years, breathed his last. He was a victim of that dread disease, consumption.
Deceased was a native of Tennessee, and about five years ago came to Chico with the hope that a change of climate would be beneficial to his health. But the disease had advanced to such a stage that he gradually declined, despite all that could be done for him.
He leaves a wife and four children to mourn his loss. The funeral took place this afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Baptist church, Rev. M. Slaughter officiating.
I just fulfilled your photo request for Edith Williams. There were no other Williams next to her but a few rows away were Catherine Poey Williams and Dr. Geoffrey Williams. I've uploaded photos for both.
