Im Tally (waves), and Ive been a member of FIND-A-GRAVE for some time now. (An arena I respect VERY much, and how meaningful it is to remember dear people/ either family or public figures..)|
I live currently in NC. HAve survived diabetes for 38 years and am a 2-time cancer survivor.(8 years out!;) ) My parents..Janice and David Glossbrenner) have listings here.
I have a son, 21, who is interested in becoming a chef. I rescue animals and do much swimming at the YMCA to keep the "bad guys" (re diabetes and cancers) away!..My 2 sisters are still alive and living in Illinois and we are very close, and try to be a credit to our Mom and Dad.
Sincerest Best wishes to you ALL....

Tally, What a sweet note, and how kind of you to send it. Nothing pleases me more than to feel I have touched a nerve with something I have written, and found a fellow traveler who likes and admires the same things I do. And I assure you, those sentiments are from the heart. I really do have an abiding affection for those actors, so many of whom are gone now. I watch these old films often, not only because I see a reflection of my youth in them, but primarily because they are so well crafted. Films in those days were made primarily for a thoughtful, adult audience, and touched on universal themes. "A Place in the Sun", "The Third Man", "Picnic", nothing made now can approach them. But romance was the order of the day, in the 1950's, when I was in my teens. "Magnificent Obsession", and a long list of others were made to reach those feelings we all have. I loved them, and feel as though I grew up in an era where so many wonderful films were made, and so many gifted actors starred in them. I know you must treasure those momentos you have. Having worked in television for many years I often had the pleasure of interviewing popular actors and actresses, but really none from the "golden age". Mercedes McCambridge was the closest I came, and we talked at length about her role in "Giant", and about Rock Hudson and Liz Taylor. She and Elizabeth made two films together, you may recall. The other was "Suddenly last Summer."
So thank you again for you note. I hope you are happy and well this holiday season. It's never Christmas for me until I see Bing and Danny and Rosemary and Vera Ellen, in "White Christmas."
On the Gulf Coast.

The photos of a mother and two children you added to the memorial of Barbara West Dainton, is not them. That photo is of the remaining members of the Asplund family from Titanic.
|Summer||RE: Hi Tally|
Thank you, it is nice to hear from you.
The "Saint Bernards" are beautiful and it's amazing to see the rescue stories and that great sense they have of search in finding people.
Hope "Andrew" is feeling better soon, it is sad when they are not feeling well! They are, like children with that lost look, they are so smart, there are times we are suprised by that sense of awareness, they have hidden away so quietly.
The picture of you with the little one is very nice.
We have adopted our little boy) Shih Tzu and (little girl) Lhasa Apso... Sadly they had both been mistreated very young...but they are happy now and very spoiled as well, we wouldn't have it any other way, can't help but love them too ! : )
Our family, loves dogs as well and all animals.
My Dad, also taught us about the well being of all creatures great and small.
Sometimes I think about times when families get angry and just that one person seems to be the target, is because they know this is the honest one the good one,the quiet one...it is difficult to go through at the time...it hurts a lot!
Tally, please keep in touch it's so nice to hear from you, family here too !
"God Bless you"

Thank you for your message. I was drawn to your photo because your dog looks very much like my Monte. I would mention the breed, but FindaGrave often tags the first word as a dirty word and blocks the message. (Yes really!) :-)
Your memorials to your parents remind me so much of my feelings towards mine. We lost the best generation of people. Your mother is stunning and your dad sounds beyond wonderful. You were very lucky to have such amazing parents. My heart goes out to you on their passing. I am located just outside Asheville and yes... I'm pretty sure I know where you are located.
Tally, please feel free to leave messages any time you like – I sometimes can't get away from work to answer for a day or two – but I will always answer you. I'm looking forward to "seeing" you again.
All my best, Joy
