Ðévil Ki††¥ Ðésigns™ is a name we chose in honor of our little boy kitty, who is still very much alive and well deserving of the nickname! |
The people behind the name are Rob & Mary, a couple of cemetery loving "freaks" living in Salisbury, North Carolina. He is a Florida native. She was raised in Alaska. We started photographing and transcribing cemeteries in 2004, and it's become something of a serious addiction.
We both have an interest in genealogy, photography, (especially cemetery photography) history, historical architecture & graphic arts.
Currently we are trying to photograph and record as many of the cemeteries in our area as we possibly can, though our jobs make finding the time to do so rather challenging these days. We will probably still be photographing graves right up until we are put in our own. We also do volunteer genealogy research in our local area.
If you discover that we have created a memorial page for one of your relatives, please let us know, as we would be happy to transfer the page to you, unless we are also related to the deceased and our relationship is closer then yours. If you are not a relative of the deceased, but would still like a transfer, please explain why you would like the transfer made(a friend of the deceased, classmate, co-worker etc). In such cases we are usually willing to transfer as well, unless the person is in our immediate family.
Photos we have added to Find A Grave may be used for non-commerical purposes only. Adding them to your family tree on such sites as an Ancestry.com or to your own personal family history page etc. is fine as long as you give proper credit. In most cases, we maintain larger, higher quality copies of the photos we have uploaded here, and will be happy to email copies of them to family members upon request.

I think this is now resolved? Jim has deleted his memorials. I was raised in Mondovi and am very familiar with these cemeteries. My folks are buried in Sacred Heart. The problem here is that there are three cemeteries that abut each other, Riverside Lutheran is on the west end, Riverside City is in the center and Sacred Heart is on the east end. They are somewhat separated by driveways but around the ends of those driveways it can get confusing. Hope we have it right now. The Blums are correctly buried in Riverside City. If you need any other info on their burials, the Cemetery Sexton is Dawn Moy, 715.926.3866.

I think the problem might be with the cemetery signage - it appears there are two cemeteries that run together.
I most likely assume that Bill Hart's listing is correct, since I did mine years ago and possibly since mine were taken they've made distinction between the Catholic and Lutheran Cemeteries.
I live in California and haven't been back to Mondovi for several years.

You're welcome! Hopefully you also saw my edit request to change her burial location to the Bedford Saint Joseph Cemetery since that is where she and her parents are buried....

About Baldwin Cemetery, for years it was in terrible disrepair, the ground is rough and uneven because people were buried improperly, many who could afford to do so moved there loved ones to a better kept cemetery. Records were not properly kept if kept at all. The record shows that Lee Edward was about 5 days old when buried by undertaker Wilt but I see no record of removal. But it's not hard to believe that he was. Hope this helps.
as keepers of the data, sometimes the best we can do is document the differences - especially with conflicting birth dates, where census data is not accurate. In the case of Andrew, there is a familysearch.org entry (minnesota deaths and burials) that puts his birth in 1832. But, I often put a high degree of confidence in what the gravestone says when entering data on findagrave.

Have a great holiday weekend.

I try to research all of my additions thoroughly so I do not duplicate. I guess I didn't look deep enough on that one and I appologize. We could have added the links to yours, copied the obit and then deleted mine. Thank you for adding the marker photo and doing what you did.

Actually if the inventory of the cemetery is to be correct, the record should show what the tombstone says--right or wrong, and then in the notes additional information to explain a date, full name, etc.
I am working every day on the Chestnut Hill list.

I have looked everywhere for John, to no avail. Actually there were 6 children, one whose name I do not know. She must have been born and died young in the years between the census record. Another, H. Mabel, born circa 1901 and I have not located any other info on her.
