I am a widow with 4 Yorky's that are the love of my life. I have 1 antique 41 Ford and a 73 Buick Centurion that I show.I have published 2 books of poetry that are still a surprise to myself for actually doing it! I am very close to my children and we always have a great time when we are together. I guess my motto if I had one would be, Laugh long and often. Smile, it makes people wonder what you know and they don't!
FRANK HOLLIDAY WRONG GUY Howdy THEOLINDA: You left flowers and a beautiful, warm message for FRANK and you, yourself seem like such a wonderful person that I could not let you go on thinking that FRANK "COMMITTED SUICIDE BY HANGING".
The actor pictured would be about 25 years old ("It's a Wonderful Life") if he were born in 1912.
The tombstone reads "HOLIDAY" with one "L" and the actor used two "L's" (his birth name).
I found the newspaper account in the LA Times of the guy with the same name. If I remember correctly, he was picked up in LA for breaking and entering and hung himself with his shoelaces in his jail cell. a few years later, his son died in an auto accident. The Dad was not a big time criminal and did not have much of an arrest record.
I tried again today to submit a correction (started in Feb) and hope this time it works.
"Our" actor, JAMES FRANKLIN HOLLIDAY was born in Easton, IL 15 Mar 1882 and died of natural causes at the age of 80 on 20 Aug 1962 in San Diego.
I hope this makes you feel better about "our" FRANK and you can still keep the other in your thoughts and prayers.
You can find "our" FRANK in the Actors Hall of Fame at:
Stella Duska Oxley Hello Theolinda, I was so happy to find your memorials for your aunt and uncle Lafayette and Stella Duska Oxley. I had been searching for Stella, her sister Nellie, is my children's great-grandmother. I am still trying to locate where Stella's father and mother are at rest, so I can create memorials for them and join Stella to their memorials, along with her brothers' and sisters'. I know her parents are at rest somewhere in the Chicago Cook County area, but as yet have not located any on-line info for them. For now, I left flowers and a message on Stella's memorial. You can contact me privately by email, just go to my Find A Grave Contributor bio. By the way, I so love what you wrote for your bio, words we should all try to live by every day! :)
