I have been trying to research my husband's mother's family. His mother was Margaret Folan Dawson. She was a daughter of Annie Stuffle,Folan,Cummings as far as I can determine. Annie Married Patrick Cummings but did not have any children by him. I have been trying to find any record of her marriage to Thomas Folan without success. I know that she arrived probably via Philadelphia to Wilmington and her married name at that time was Stuffle, but can find no evidence that her husband arrived with her. Do you have any suggestions?

I believe the other one to be in the wrong cemetery. Would you happen to know definitively which is correct?

I see you have left flowers for my Grandfather who died on Christmas Island. I was wondering what the connection is with my family. I am an avid family researcher!

|Bob Cummings||Cummings Lineage|
My name is Robert "Bob" Cummings and I just came across your profile during one of my searches in Find A Grave. In looking through some of the messages that have been sent to you, it's obvious that other people with a Cummings lineage have contacted you. Hopefully, our messages will somehow help some of us in clearing gaps in our genealogical searches.
My grandfather, George Albert Cummings, married to Lillie May Wilkins, was one of the sons of a William Daniel Cummings, born August 4, 1831 in Sheffield, England. William emigrated to the US in 1841 along with two brothers; Thomas (born 1818), James (born 1821), and Anne Cummings ???? (born 1888). Per the 1850 US Census, their younger brother, Albert was born 1842 in Massachusetts.
William Daniel married Margaret Sheila Leach on August 30, 1853 and had the following children:
1. Mary E., born 1854 - Deceased
2. Martha Jane, born 1857 - Deceased
3. Robert F., born 1859 - Deceased
4. William Jefferson, 1861-1934
5. George Albert, 1864-1917
6. Alice M.D., born 1866 - Deceased
7. Anna Isabell, born 1868 - Deceased
8. Joel Edward, born 1870 - Deceased
9. Hattie Maude (Everett) 1873-1974
Some of this information may help some of your other correspondents and possibly (hopefully) help them contact me with an exchange of ideas and/or genealogical information.

|Richard Foster||Edith Harrison's Grave|
I'm Richard S. Foster; Edith Cummings/Harrison was married to my granduncle Charles E Harrison. Charles was Mate to Captain John Cummings on the Tug Boat “Nemasket" out of Fall River, as well as being Captain to the “Mikado/City Point” out of New Haven, CT. My granduncle was lost at sea sometime after 1913, but I haven't been able to find how/when/where. I knew he left a wife and daughter, but until I saw the entry in Find a Grave I had lost all links. I hoped that his wife and daughter had lived a long and happy life, but I see now that she died shortly after he did. Do you know anything more than what is posted? I have gone to the Mystic Seaport Museum and found some correspondences, but they were strictly of a business nature. He worked as a steam boat captain for Jeremiah Smith and Son’s in New Haven. I don’t believe he was employed there at the time of his death, because the last public records I found list him as a “mariner: which is a little vague. I hope you have more info, but if not I’m I thank you for posting the grave, it allows me to close at least one part, albeit sadly.

No worries, his entry was originally listed under "C. Frank Banks" so you wouldn't have been able to find it easily. Cheers.

Thanks very much, Tom, for the transfer. And my apologies for the delay in acknowledging. I had a computer crash in September, followed by a number of trips and deadlines, which have caused a major Find-A-Grave backlog. All the best to you. -Joe Klett
