Bio and Links
Bio Photo Even as a child cemeteries have fascinated me. I remember begging my Mom to drop my brother and I off at the Lexington Cemetery while she ran errands, so we could look at all the different headstones. I have even been known to take side-trips to little "off the road" cemeteries just to see the old stones. Of course, this gradually turned into seeking out my "family tree". Unfortunately, I didn't get serious about genealogy until around 1997 when my daughter needed some genealogy information" for a school project. As most of the relative that "knew" the information had passed, I have been slowly piecing together many generations of my family tree.

I found "Find A Grave" when I was doing genealogical research and lo and behold someone I had been "stuck on" was listed with a photo of their headstone!. I was excited to say the least! Since then, I have been trying to do my part here by listing relatives and taking photos of headstones when time allows.

The main names in my family are as follows:

(Paternal - Mainly Central Illinois, France, Germany) Moncelle, Harms, Reinholtz, Grove, Neirgarth, Brooks, Geiger

(Maternal - Mainly Southern Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, England) Burr, Ward, Paugh, Green, Woods, Martin, Cook, Herrick, Colbert

Hinshaw photo requests
Hi Teri,

I have recently claimed your photo requests for Hinshaws at Hinshaw Cemetery in Danvers. It looks like the cemetery is on a family farm. Before I walk up to their door, I was just going to ask if you are related at all, which may help my entree?

Thanks!
Gigi

FAG__FAQs

Never apply bleach, ammonia, shaving cream, chalk, flour, baking soda, cornstarch, firm pressure or use anything abrasive. Do not post photos of recently chalked or shaving-creamed headstones.

Consult a professional before any attempt to clean a headstone is made.

Reporting chalking: Existing chalked headstone photos can remain UNLESS there is an already existing non-chalked photo OR until a new non-chalked photo is posted.

Also, if the chalked photos appear on memorials that YOU have created and maintain, then you can ask to have them removed if you object to them, at which time they will be deleted. In such a case, report the photos to photo@findagrave.com. Use the same email address to report members who are continually posting chalked headstones photos. [Top]

Hello, Teri. I'm very happy to find your site here this morning. I so often come across your name while searching for ancestors of mine and figured we must be related some way. So that would be thru the GROVE tribe. Margaret Eva Wright (Grove) was my 3rd great grandmother and Wm Henry Grove was a gr gr uncle, so am twice related to Grove family. You have accomplished an amazing amount of work. Maybe we'll bump into each other in a local cemetery some day.

rolston graves
I was excited to find some family in the Scrogen Cemetery at Lexington. Little Nancy Rolston's grave though, is hard to read with some grass covering one of the letters. She is the daughter of -?- and S Rolston. Can you help?
Thank you so much, Marilyn

Images from Lexington & Scrogin Cemetery
Good afternoon! I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to ask permission to use images you've posted in the Lexington & Scrogin cemeteries (Janes, Hefner, Flesher & Campbell). I'm developing my family website and would love to post these to the database. Thank you so much!
