|PattyK||RE: Thank you!|
You're welcome! Thank you for making the change.
Frankie was a dear friend and neighbor to my family. If I remember correctly she was quite a character. She drove an old blue Ford pickup that belonged to her husband Henry before he died. She lived in a farmhouse down the road from our farm in Washington, IA. She had no indoor plumbing which was unusual for the time (the 60's). She babysat my sister and me whenever my parents had to go somewhere from the time we were babies until she passed away. She would come and stay with us whenever the weather was bad, during thunderstorms or blizzards. She was present at many of our extended family gatherings. I also remember she would only drink warm water, never cold and put sugar on her sliced tomatoes.
I had just turned 10 years old when she passed away in October 1970. When my parents couldn't get in touch with her they knew something must be wrong. Because her doors were locked I, because I was small enough, had to crawl through a window of her house. My mom and dad told me not to look anywhere, but just to run straight to the front door and unlock it. I did so and they came in. Frankie was slumped over a chair in her living room. She had had a stroke and died a few days later in the hospital. On a table was a little box with a necklace in it that my mom had helped her pick out as a present for my birthday.
I remember Vesper visiting Frankie a great deal and I think, if I'm not mistaken, she eventually moved to Washington. I remember her as being very quiet, but almost always smiling.
I also remember meeting your great grandmother, Kate, on a few occasions.
Sorry to go on like this. My mother just passed away this past July and I've been reminiscing quite a bit these past six months.

|PattyK||Francis (Frankie) Bonnett|
The picture posted on Frankie's memorial is actually of her sister Vesper. Also, the picture posted on Vesper Bonnett's memorial is actually of Frankie.
In addition, Frankie is buried in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, IA next to her husband Henry Sutherland.
As a child I lived just down the road from Frankie. She babysat for my sister and me when we were little. I knew her as Frankie Sutherland.

Yes....our grandson Joshua. He can actually take some pretty good pictures. :)
|Louise||The Andrews Photos|
Thanks for adding the Andrews photos. From the tokens we both left, I think we must be cousins. The Andrews are on my husband's side of the family. Thanks again for your contributions to Find a Grave.
