Bio and Links
Bio Photo My interest in genealogy began as a child. We spent a lot of time with my Grandmother who maintained the cemetery plot that her son & parents were buried in. It is a rather large cemetery with several old graves with unreadable headstones. I've always wondered who they were, what they did, etc. So much history in graveyards certainly not to be feared like they show in horror films! Every month I usually list the birthdays for the people I have included in my virtual cemetery list. If you would be so kind as to drop by and leave a flower that would be wonderful and very much appreciated! God bless!

Cheryll,

Samuel T & Susan Masters Clark are my GGG Grand Parents, on my Daddy's side. I am also looking for any information On Wm. Henry & Sarah Susan Mydora Alice Calrenda Ford Clark from Henry Co.GA
They had 11 children. They are my Great Grand parents on my Mothers side. They are buried o Fairview Rd., at the Methodist Church. I am trying to figure out how they are all connected. Both families lived in the Shakerug Community around Fairview. If you have any information you could share with me please let me know.

Thank you,
Diane Clark Chandler

Andrew Cotton
Dear Cheryll Cotten: I see back in 2006 you left flowers for Andrew Cotton, Find A Grave Memorial # 15907339. Would you by any chance be kin to another Andrew Jackson "Jack" Cottom (he changed his family's surname from 'Cotton' to 'Cottom'), who was born October 7, 1877 in Hopkinsville, Christian County, Kentucky? His father was Chesley (middle initial J. or S.) Cotton, also born in Christian County, Kentucky. Andrew's mother was Angeline Treat (Treat was her maiden name), and she was born in Coffee County, Tennessee. I am asking because I am trying to locate any living relatives of my friend Phyllis, who born to James Thomas Newton, Sr. and Mary A. Cottom (Mary was the daughter of Andrew Jackson Cottom/Cotton), Find A Grave Memorial # 94548299. Phyllis was adopted at the age of ten months by the McClure family. Phyllis is now 86-years-old and just two weeks ago found out who her birth family was! Do you perhaps share any familial connection? Thank you and kind regards, Bridey Light

RE: Hello
That is so cool, I cannot wait to tell momma. She lives over in Bluffton/Hilton Head. It is the perfect distance - we can see each other whenever we want, and we are not so close as to run into each other all the time.

Hopefully, I will be able to take some time and run over to Meriwether soon - it is so different to look at something when the past has come alive.

I adored my Grandfather. Ella always scared me, but we would have Sunday dinner(lunch) with her and Bernice and I, to this day, love banana pudding. .

I am using ancestry as a place to "store" all my stuff that I find, maybe we can hook up and help each other where we are stumped.

Thanks for the note.

RE: Douglas Ingram
Yes, Douglas ".son". Was my grandfather. My mom is his daughter Peggy. I loved him dearly.

I want to take a trip to alvaton & walk around soon.

J.Butler is interesting. It is amazing the stuff out there that you can read. If you go to ancestry & see Aderhold1962 you will see my line & what I have found out. & what I am missing .

RE: Christian Wilkening
Was able to finally get to Graceland Park cemetery and look to see if there were others with the last name Wilkening and I did find one more. I found Sophia Wilkening.

RE: J Butler
I doubt anyone knew about the interments. at the time of the death, the journey was arduous and if it did not kill you,the Indians often did.the 1 Us volunteers were sent (sacrificed) there to fight the Indians because the north was running out of men to send.

Also, at that tame, I doubt that someone who had sworn allegiance to the Us and actually fought for them before being sent out west would have been welcome in alvaton.

I was amazed that I was able to find him. I know it is him because the records match.

It would be nice though to have him in alvaton with the rest of the family - so many generation are in Alvaton Baptist Cemetery.
