I started out only posting memorials of my family and friends. Now I am also documenting several small cemeteries in my area by photographing stones. Every memorial I post in this area will have a photo attached. |
My main family names are Stacy, Birge, Needham, and Winton. My husband's family names are Eubanks, Bryant, Coleman and Walker.
I have really enjoyed posting memorials on Find a Grave. I have found it a great place to record information that may help future genealogists. My daughters and grandkids are not very interested in our family history right now. I keep telling them that one day they will be happy that I was!
I enjoy taking gravestone photos and walking through older cemeteries as weather and health permit. My husband would often accompany me to cemeteries that he thought were too remote for me to visit alone. If I have added any photos to anyone's memorial that is objected to, please let me know and I will remove them.
I will gladly make a memorial transfer to a family member...as long as it's not one of my family. Please state your relationship to the one you want transferred. I will be happy to add information to the memorial instead of transferring, which is what I prefer, but if you want a loved one transferred to you, related or not, I will probably do so. :)
When you request a transfer, or want to add info to a bio, please use the "Edit" tab on the memorial in question. Then click on the line that says "Suggest A Correction". That will make it so much easier to complete the transfer or to make the addition. I will NOT transfer or make corrections unless it comes through a SAC. Also I will not link any of my memorials to a "burial unknown" memorial.

Can you please tell me how to find the Piney Grove Cemetery where Susan Taylor is buried? When I google it, I get three different Piney Grove Cemetery in the vicinity of Upshur county. I hope to make a trip down there Friday. Thank You.

This man is listed as brother to Nancy Winton Johnson #48022301. I see that you have Wintons in your line, so I wanted to see if you had verification that this Nancy belongs in the family with Hiram. I am of the belief that her parents were Rev. John M. and Arabella Cunnyngham Winton. Could we compare notes?

I would like to see if you can help me with the Hunnycutt's. Memorial # 61763389 Thomas Terry Hunnycutt is the name on his headstone, his information I got from the funeral home has his last name as Hunneycutt. It has his father as Rufus Hunneycutt, mother as Fannie Walker, brother as John Hunneycutt of San Dimas Calif. his sisters as Mrs. Tom Birge & Mrs. Floyd Dowdy. He is the husband of Aunt Daulton Hunnycutt, Marion Taylor's sister. I see you have a John HunnIcutt. (I am about to pull what little gray hair I have out).
Thank you for all the help you give me. I found another photo of Tom & Alice Birge in daddy's family photos. Ronnie

No need to get saucy.. Everyone has a life outside of their family history searches.. My family genealogy is my hobby and as I crawl through my extended families, I try to link where I can, if I can... I actually appreciate the hard work of others and hope to help in some small way, when I can.. Have a good day :)
