Bio

Even as a child cemeteries have fascinated me. I remember begging my Mom to me off at the Lexington Cemetery while she ran errands, so I could look at all the different headstones. I have even been known to take side-trips to little "off the road" cemeteries just to see the old stones. Of course, this gradually turned into seeking out my "family tree". Unfortunately, I didn't get serious about genealogy until around 1997 when my daughter needed some genealogy information" for a school project. As most of the relative that "knew" the information had passed, I have been slowly piecing together many generations of my family tree.

I found "Find A Grave" when I was doing genealogical research and lo and behold someone I had been "stuck on" was listed with a photo of their headstone!. I was excited to say the least! Since then, I have been trying to do my part here by listing relatives and taking photos of headstones when time allows.

The main names in my family are as follows:

(Paternal - Mainly Central Illinois, France, Germany) Moncelle, Harms, Reinholtz, Grove, Neirgarth, Brooks, Geiger

(Maternal - Mainly Southern Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, England) Burr, Ward, Paugh, Green, Woods, Martin, Cook, Herrick, Colbert
