I have been researching my roots for many years. There is something very satisfying in discovering all about my family history; and there is always more to learn! |
As well as its primary purpose being a grave registration site, FindAGrave is a wonderful way to memorialize our ancestors, and a great genealogical resource. My husband and I enjoy contributing to this website, honoring those who have gone before us, and helping others to find their long lost family.
We respect the guidelines set forth for this website.
We will be happy to add proper info and links to memorials. We do not link to burial unknowns.
Transfer requests will be made for direct family members, within 4 generations, as set by the guidelines.
Please make all SACs and transfer requests through the edit tab on the memorial itself.
All photos that we post are bound by copyright rules. Do not take any of them for your own use, neither on this website, nor anywhere else. Do not alter them for re-posting here, nor anywhere else. Thank you :)

Just curious if Joseph P Glezman you recorded in Lincoln Cemetery is related to you.
|Lou Adams||RE: Annie E. Longenecker|
Hi - Her obit stated she is survived by a son John "Markley". So my guess is that she was married twice - First to a Morris and later to a Longenecker. There is a marriage license filed at the Berks Court house for: Annie E. Morris and David S. Longenecker in 1921. Unfortunately, I live too far away to go and look at that license - and - see who she listed as her parents. I have noticed that sometimes there are mistakes in obits - as well as- mistakes on grave stone markers.

That was a nice epitaph you left for my father. Unfortunately, there are a few inaccuracies. First, he was not an astronomer or meteorologist. He was a chemist by degree but held no degrees in other fields. My father was hated by your grandmother and my loving aunt, Christine. My father hated her also and criticized and spoke badly about her to me many times. I defended her and was brutalized by beatings for standing up for her. My sister and I were taken away from him and put into Bethany Children's Home in Womelsdorf by the court of New York for neglect and abuse. The neighbors in Brooklyn called the police on him and he was arrested for child abuse. It was thanks to your grandmother and her sister, Aunt Gladys Bamford that we were rescued and sent to a Christian childrens home. My father was a pathological liar. He said he was a soldier in WWII but that was a lie. He was deferred by his continual school attendance and because he had connections. His father, my grandfather, Forest Ritter Shanaman, was a president judge of Berks county and political pull. I was told by my grandfather that he managed to keep Peter out of the war. He was a brutal, mean-spirited, man who neglected his two children. He was a philanderer who cheated on his wife at many opportunities. Aunt Christine had told me of his indiscretions. Your grandmother was an honorable woman and it would upset her if she saw the way Peter was remembered. Your are a good person also for writing this but be advised, you are quite wrong about this man.
Aloha, Kurt Shanaman

Hellow Carol and Pete,
Thank you for creating a memorial for my Aunt Garnet. She was so very dear to me and my family. I have added a couple photos and sponsored the page to remove adds, but the bio needs a personal touch to tell her story, because you see she was a very special and extraordinary person and is missed deeply, since her death in 2010. If you would consider transferring management to me, it would be in good hands and I would good care for the memorial with the attention it deserves. The memorial number is 131929599
