Why is FindAGrave.com such a great resource?
1. It helps people find where their loved ones are buried.
2. It allows people who can't travel for health or cost reasons to pay "virtual" visits to loved ones' gravesites.
3. It preserves images of crumbling/fading gravestones.
4. It aids people in researching their family genealogy.

I retired in November 2019. Until then I had been a systems administrator at Siemens PLM Software.

In 2009 my wife (Vicki) started doing genealogy research on both of our families in 2009. In 2013, and again in 2017, I went through all the Find A Grave memorials that were in her genealogy records and submitted updates for many of them based on her research. (As of March 2022 there were over 8,600 Find A Grave memorials in our collective family tree.) I have continued in that role as she has discovered additional family connections.

I keep track of the 4 main branches of our family (Vicki's father, Vicki's mother, my father, and my mother) in 4 virtual cemeteries.

Regarding transfers: Most of the memorials I manage are not relatives. And even for a memorial that is a relative, I believe that if you are a closer relative than I am, then you should have it if you want it. Just tell me how you are related to that memorial and we'll work out which of us is the closer relative. (I'm not doing this to see how many memorial records I can "collect".)
