Hi. I have Silphenia "Phebe" Gibbs 1779-1830 as the mother of Nicholas Gibbs Martin 1811-1888. Nicholis is my granny's 3rd great grandfather.

RE: John Martin, Jr.
Donnie, I have a tree on Ancestry. For some reason it is not showing my relationships to others. I will try to explain. Hang with me, I hope this is right.

The father of John Calvin Martin 1784-1840 is John Martin 1745-1803. The father of John Martin 1745-1803 is Joseph Martin 1702-1761. John Martin 1745-1803 is the brother of Brig. Gen. Joseph Lynch Martin 1740-1808 who is my 6th great grandfather.

Capt. Joseph Lynch Martin 1702-1761 is my 7th Great Grandfather. Brig. Gen. Joseph Lynch Martin 1740-1808 is my 6th great grandfather. His son Jesse Martin 1786-1836 is my 5th great grandfather. His son is Nicholas Gibbs Martin 1811-1888 is my 4th great grandfather. John Luther Martin 1836-1911 is my 3rd great grandfather. Joel Martin 1860-? is my 2nd great grandfather. John Bluford Martin 1873-1920 is my great grandfather. His daughter Gwendolyn Dollie Martin Clemons 1909-1994 is my lovely grandmother.

Find A Grave Memorial# 60955458 has the birth date for Capt. Joseph Martin, Sr. as 1700. I think it is 20 Dec 1702. I am not sure how I came up with this date so it may be wrong. Forgive me. I hope this helps.

How are you related? Do you have a tree on If not, you might enjoy having one. Sometimes it amazes me what all they have.
