Any information I add to memorials came from censuses and local records (available on ancestry.com, family search, or your local library) or from local histories available for free on the internet. More than 90 percent of the photographs of people that I have added were purchased, not taken, from ebay merchants. (I've never sold anything on ebay, but believe those who do sell have a right to make profit on their investment, and not to have their photographs downloaded by someone who resents them for making a profit.)
