To keep weeds out of the beautiful Find A Grave garden....

First, I don't link to Burial Unknown Site Memorials as BU shouldn't be on FAG according to the guidelines of the website. Do not request relationship edits to a BU as it will be refused. The first criteria for making a memorial on FAG is having the burial site, as this is a grave registration site. When you made a BU, you have a chance of losing the memorial to the member who "Find A Grave" in the cemetery.

Second, I may or may not transfer outside of the guidelines to an established member. It is my choice. Long-time hard working-members, who are busy in surveying cemeteries and taking grave photos impress me more than someone who is collecting others' memorials for their personal goal or waiting for someone to find the burial sites for their numerous memorials made with an "unknown burial site".

Lastly, there are no duplicated memorials on FAG. If I find a duplicated memorial while researching this site, there is 99% chance that it will be deleted or merged eventually.

You may disagree with the guidelines but remember the guy who started Find A Grave wrote them. He is the boss.

Many of the memorials transferred to me were done without my request for them. These memorials have found a home and will be nurtured.

Also, thank you for all the flowers and tokens left on my family's memorial. They are all sincerely appreciated by me and my family.

Remember to check on the Discussion Forums here. They are very newsy, helpful and interesting!

RE: Andres Christian Anderson
Thanks for the suggestion but there is a very detailed explanation if you click on the cemetery photo. It was approved this way by findagrave. Adding numbers 1 & 2 would not clarify anything. A lot of the confusion has all ready been resolved, this is just a rare entry.

It is not a duplicated cemetery, as there are TWO St. John's Lutheran Cemeteries, one maybe 5 miles west and 1 mile north of Exira, and one on the Audubon-Guthrie County line. I have photographed all graves in the St. John's cemetery west of Exira. I was once to the other cemetery, and photographed a few graves there and the sign to that cemetery, hoping to avoid further confusion. There have been a lot of problems with people putting memorials in the wrong cemetery, creating many duplicates. I am certain this man is in the St. John's Cemetery west of Exira, but I will check after work today. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Thanks. I hate duplicate listings, as common as they are here, and certainly try to avoid them. I guess I missed that. I have deleted mine.

Re #87669373 I am curious as to your relation/connection to Alfred, if you don't mind my asking. Was he a relative? Thanks, P. Oliver

RE: Thanks for the photo
It was truly a pleasure. I'm also thrilled that the veterans are still being thought of.

RE: Thanks for the photos
You are very welcome. It always makes me a little sad to see a spouse whose death information has not been updated also. Glad I was able to help you.
