Who Art In Heaven
Reginald Pashley
I have no idea how this small miracle came about however I am soo ooooo indeed pleased to see a photo of this most precious soldier after a lifetime of thinking of him and actually living in his house which eventually got sold to us when the last member of his family passed away and there were no living family left. This family lost their only son, and his two sisters never married or had children...the end of a family many similar stories because of what WAR did to family trees. Thank you so much dear sir for giving us a photo of this most precious 20 year old soldier lost at war and to a whole family.
I hold it precious indeed. Our local church has a stained glass window that was sponsored by his family shortly after he died. It was by pur accident that I found this window, by going to a wedding of a neighbour...fancy that...another dot that got connected in the mysterious story

Also appreciate the short bio from the book. I'm retaining the 1914 birth year, however, because it's on his birth and baptism record (not that there couldn't be a transcription error there...).

RE: Joseph DesRoches
So happy to hear that and appreciate your sharing the image with everyone. Someone was giving me heat about copyright...
Thanx much.

Findagrave has decided to keep both memorials since they publish separate memorials in different places. So, let's stay with the status quo...

Still, it would be nice to know the source of your photo. Perhaps I could find other family members there.

I am in the process of removing my duplicate memorial of Joseph DesRoches # 106115323. You added a welcomed portrait pic of the seaman. If the image is shareable without copyright limitations it would be nice if you would add it to the earlier memorial # 56171292.

I love your mission of honoring the worthy soldiers.

Thank you.

Thank you
Thank you for posting the newspaper clip for my uncle Arthur Everett Tingley, I've been searching for a photo of him for a very long time, no one in my family has any surviving photos and that picture means a lot to my family. Thank you

Thank you so much for adding a picture of my 'cousin 1x removed'. It seems to make an even better memorial with a picture. You have done a wonderful project in searching out & adding these photos. Thank you. Archie's father left a diary where he had written a note the day they received the telegram that their son was killed in action - how terrible this must have been for families.
