I started out only posting memorials of my family and friends. Now I am also documenting several small cemeteries in my area by photographing stones. Every memorial I post in this area will have a photo attached. |
My main family names are Stacy, Birge, Needham, and Winton. My husband's family names are Eubanks, Bryant, Coleman and Walker.
I have really enjoyed posting memorials on Find a Grave. I have found it a great place to record information that may help future genealogists. My daughters and grandkids are not very interested in our family history right now. I keep telling them that one day they will be happy that I was!
I enjoy taking gravestone photos and walking through older cemeteries as weather and health permit. My husband would often accompany me to cemeteries that he thought were too remote for me to visit alone. If I have added any photos to anyone's memorial that is objected to, please let me know and I will remove them.
I will gladly make a memorial transfer to a family member...as long as it's not one of my family. Please state your relationship to the one you want transferred. I will be happy to add information to the memorial instead of transferring, which is what I prefer, but if you want a loved one transferred to you, related or not, I will probably do so. :)
When you request a transfer, or want to add info to a bio, please use the "Edit" tab on the memorial in question. Then click on the line that says "Suggest A Correction". That will make it so much easier to complete the transfer or to make the addition. I will NOT transfer or make corrections unless it comes through a SAC. Also I will not link any of my memorials to a "burial unknown" memorial.

Hello, My name is Oscar Kelly and Darcas Stokes Simmons was my maternal great grandmother and I inadvertently created another memorial for her under 125607659. I would like to begin putting in relationship links and wanted your input on how to proceed from here. I can simply delete the memorial I created but if so would you mind updating your bio for her to read....
"Darcas was born into slavery and freed after the Civil War. She married Shedrick Simmons and had eleven children."

I am wondering is your Harrison Stacy is related to Ishom Harrison Stacy, b 9 Jun 1851 in Chocktow Co, Mississippi, Death 27 Sep 1883 in Morris Co, Texas.

Jane, in regards to Lewis Jeffferson Lovelady's headstone, the "A" was a mistake. It should read L.J. Lovelady. I am not 100% sure how the error was made but am sure this is his headstone and burial plot. I have proof of his birth and death dates as well as which cemetery he is buried in. If you would like a copy of any of it, let me know. I also have his Confederate pension application and an application made by his nephew to have L.J.'s burial costs paid for as a Civil War veteran. You can email me at email@example.com

Thanks, Jane. That was mainly for your info so you would know why I would be submitting other info. I will have the contributor to look at the obit that is posted on Julian's memorial which indicates Golda 'Goldie' Gipson is his mother, not Virginia.
Appreciate your work on these memorials,

Thanks for sponsoring the memorial for my grand-aunt Annie. She was a sister of my mother's mother.
