Please remember that this website has grown thanks to a lot of volunteers. We're not a homogeneous group. We have different values, different styles, different abilities, and sometimes we just plain make mistakes. So, given the nature of our mutual enterprise, we've got to learn how to "do difference."
.
If you're irritated and frustrated by people who think or feel differently than you do, then please try a personal conversation before resorting to power moves and policing. Relationship goes a long way toward solving problems, which is something that Abraham Lincoln understood very well: "I don't like that man," he said, "I must get to know him better."
One can pray, believe and receive, or we can pray, doubt and do without. I know experience is a hard teacher, the real test is often given first, and the lesson afterward. Some individuals won't accept ANY edits irregardless of proof!!

We all live on through the differences we make, by words and works, of love and compassion. More eyes and sharing make better memorials, documentation isn't always available to all. Due to distance, accessibility to records in different countries, or even eyes on at a Cemetery. Rudeness is unnecessary, good Memorials the point. Pic requests are limited to 20/wk, why is someone mad I make a request? I wonder!?! 2019 someone complained about something and 35,000 of my flowers were removed, why? Cause I honour others?

What I like about Find A Grave the tangible stone pictures of interlocking families.
Scattering of Cremains to me, is a romantic notion, a sound choice for some (& it can be), but my experience has shown that family can come to regret this decision in later years, as they have lost the opportunity to create a focal point for remembrance. That's where FindAGrave can be helpful.
Cemetery walking involves oodles of kms, extensive planning, travel time, riding multiple buses, bees, flies, gnats, ticks, mosquitoes, assorted other bugs (dragonflies ñ butterflies), dogs, burrs, briars, weeds, tall grass, snakes, scrapes, cuts, multiple holes to avoid, mud, dirt, snow, severe rain, dust, wind, blazing sun, rutted roads, hills and dales, getting lost, damaged knees, sciatica, other aches, and BUCKETS of sweat. Appreciate others that brave the elements too!

Final words: THIS IS A CEMETERY
Lives are commemorated, deaths are recorded, families are reunited, memories are made tangible and love is undisguised. This is a cemetery.
I must be up and doing, aye, each minute. The grave gives time for rest when we are in it. – W.S. Blunt
Communities accord respect, families bestow reverence, historians seek information and our heritage is thereby enriched.
Testimonies of devotion, pride and remembrance are carved in stone to pay warm tribute to accomplishments and to the life; not death, of a loved one. The cemetery is homeland for family memorials that are a sustaining source of comfort to the living.
A cemetery is a history of people, a perpetual record of yesterday and a sanctuary of peace and quiet today. A cemetery exists because every life is worth loving and remembering, always.

A pause in what's to be,

~~~DEAR ANCESTOR ~~~
Your tombstone stands among the rest,
neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
on polished, marble stone.
It reaches out to all who care;
it is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist;
you died, and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you,
in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
so long ago
Spreads out among the ones you left,
who would have loved you so.
I wonder how you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.
Days Gone By;
The special book upon the shelf, was made with many hands. Our ancestors who posed back then, all came from different lands. Their pictures were all tucked away, and rarely did we see, the importance of these treasures - The start of you and me. The history of our families, now here in black and white, preserved with special care and time, each page is done just right. When time permits, we take it down, and think of days long past. Our hopes, our dreams, our heritage, all safe and made to last.
Remember This:
I have had the distinct pleasure to collaborate with some truly wonderful fellow Contributors and to offer burial records I have come across to give to others for them to add Memorials for whom they are related to . Through integrity, honesty and mutual respect, all beautiful things are possible. With having cancer, it has been an ongoing invaluable experience to work with such wonderful upstanding people.
Behind every Contributor #, there is a human being. Human beings who care about the deceased, who give the deceased the honor and respect they deserve and to Memorialize them. Doing deceptive things to other Contributor's and to the Memorial's they have created
or maintain is not only disrespectful to the Contributor who manages the Memorial, but most of all, is disrespectful to the deceased person for whom the Memorial is for. Through partnership together, the deceased will be forever memorialized on this beautiful Find a Grave website.
Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts, but instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the storytellers of the tribe.
"We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie in Flanders Fields."
~~ John McCrae
~~~DEAR ANCESTOR ~~~
Your tombstone stands among the rest,
neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
on polished, marble stone.

It reaches out to all who care;
it is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist;
you died, and I was born.

Yet each of us are cells of you,
in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
so long ago
Spreads out among the ones you left,
who would have loved you so.

I wonder how you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

Days Gone By;
The special book upon the shelf, was made with many hands. Our ancestors who posed back then, all came from different lands. Their pictures were all tucked away, and rarely did we see, the importance of these treasures - The start of you and me. The history of our families, now here in black and white, preserved with special care and time, each page is done just right. When time permits, we take it down, and think of days long past. Our hopes, our dreams, our heritage, all safe and made to last.

As I research I'm finding quite a lot of duplicate memorials, suggesting merges, and updating existing memorials with their parents, families and dates as I discover them.

Our Memories are like threads of Gold, they never Tarnish or Grow Old
'I choose to spend my time among the dead because they give me far less grief than the living.'
If ever there comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart, I'll stay there forever.

Coimetromania (Ko-metro-MANE-ia): An abnormal attraction and desire to visit cemeteries.
Always a silent hurt, many a silent tear,
but always a beautiful memory of one we loved so dear.
God gave us strength to bear it, and courage to take the blow,
but what it meant to lose you...no one will ever know. ~author unknown
Remember This:
I have had the distinct pleasure to collaborate with some truly wonderful fellow Contributors and to offer burial records I have come across to give to others for them to add Memorials for whom they are related to . Through integrity, honesty and mutual respect, all beautiful things are possible. With having cancer, it has been an ongoing invaluable experience to work with such wonderful upstanding people.

Behind every Contributor #, there is a human being. Human beings who care about the deceased, who give the deceased the honor and respect they deserve and to Memorialize them. Doing deceptive things to other Contributor's and to the Memorial's they have created
or maintain is not only disrespectful to the Contributor who manages the Memorial, but most of all, is disrespectful to the deceased person for whom the Memorial is for. Through partnership together, the deceased will be forever memorialized on this beautiful Find a Grave website.
May it remain free and a valuable resource, especially for those without resources.
Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars!
We had a beer, and toasted you,
we miss you lots, it makes us blue.
Rest in peace, our brave knight,
we will be together another night.

Thank you {Find A Grave} for all the worthy and vital work you do!!
It is an honor to be a member.
Thanks to other volunteers for their valuable input. If it wasn't out there, you wouldn't have found it to correct it!
Will respect any request to take down a memorial and apologise in advance as it is not my intention to cause any hurt or pain, just Honouring Souls. And it has happened, although rudeness unnecessary!
Wolf is a symbol of guardianship, ritual, loyalty, and spirit. Wolf has the ability to make quick and firm emotional attachments and often need to trust their own instincts. Thus, they teach us to do the same, to trust our hearts and minds, and have control over our own lives.

Remembering all 'Loyalists' with blessings for their ideals, principles and courage. Happy to be able to document and preserve their memories for the future.

Becomes a hobby,
Continues as a vocation,
Takes over as an obsession,

Is an incurable disease."
