I became interested in Genealogy in 1975 when I was offered extra credit for tracing my Family Tree for my English Final.

We all knew my Dad was adopted and we knew his biological name, but he had no interest in locating anyone and would not give me any additional information.

In 1985, my Dad passed away and 2 months later, I had my one and only child, a daughter, Melissa. It was then that I had an even stronger desire to locate biological family, out of curiosity and for medical history, so I set out on a search.

To make a long story short, after a 10 year journey, in late 1995, I received what I call a "gift from the grave" Dad found out he had Cancer and knew his time was limited.

I believe, he placed an index card under the carpet in his bedroom for me to find one day. On the index card was his birth name, his Biological Mother's name and his Grandfather's name. A KY phone book search at Rutgers University Library and 3 months later, I found myself speaking on the phone with my Dad's Biological brother.

In early 1996 I had the opportunity to travel to KY and meet a large family I never knew. I was thrilled to find out that my Aunt had my Paternal roots traced back to the 1600's.

A cousin gave me a large collection of family history from my maternal roots back to the early 1700's.

My family names are Tuttle, Prewitt, Kline, Moelich, Mellick, Melick and to many others to list.

Since I received a "gift from the grave" from my Dad, by photographing headstones, I hope to be able to help others put all the leaves on their trees.

I enjoy going to Cemeteries and honoring those who have passed before me. I have many photos of headstones to post and transcribe and wish I had more time to honor all the requests I have been getting.

I work approx 50-55 hours a week so please be patient with us and I will do my best to try to find your loved ones!
