"LIKE A MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE"|
Essentially, every entry on Findagrave is like a message in a bottle; not the old fashioned kind that was tossed hopefully into the vast and briny sea, but the high tech one that floats out on the ether and can be accessed by thousands of searchers every day. May we make our connections with our ancestors and others like ourselves who are searchers, sentimental rememberers, and guardians of past lives and times.
"Our greatest treasure is our family, not only the warm circle around the Christmas tree, but all those whose lives gave us life, and those who will carry our love into the future." (Anonymous)
Any corrections/additions, please use EDIT tab on far right hand corner of the memorial. If I have created memorials for ANY of your family and or ancestors and you would like a transfer, please let me know and will happily transfer them to you.
Happy Genealogy Trails.

Thank you so much for your kind words. Today I finally did add a memorial for Doogie. It made me cry, as I knew it would; his number is 170726587. I need to locate one of my photos of him to upload to the memorial.
I also have a memorial for my dog Tuffy "Sweet Boy"; his number is 146320366. Losing him broke my heart, and I don't think I'll ever fully recover.
There are many more to add, but I can only handle writing about them one at a time. I'd also like to add my five late granddogs and two late grandkitties.
I had read that law enforcement solved the murders of Valerie Lane and Doris Derryberry. It was also on our local news in Oklahoma City because one of the two men was living in Oklahoma and was extradited to California to stand trial. I wish it hadn't taken 43 years to solve the murders, but I hope the girls' families can get at least some justice now.
As for murder victims Curtis and Sharon Ackley, both buried at Rocklin Cemetery, they returned home and found burglars Johnny Lee Sommerhalder and Kenneth Allen Preston inside. You probably don't want to know what they did to Mrs. Ackley before her death. Both offenders were sentenced to death, but those sentences were later commuted to life sentences. California paroled Preston in 1980. Sommerhalder is still in prison and is now 73 years old.

Hello Valarie: Whenever I see your name on a site, I am delighted. To me, it represents not only outstanding work, but an immeasurable graciousness and decency. I thank you for these two recent transfers; I will treat them with the honor they deserve. Best regards, Jeanne
