Bio and Links
Bio Photo I developed taphophilia in Nov 2007. I'm adding what I can, photos and accurate transcriptions, because stones deteriorate and there's no better time than now.

On a philosophical note: I believe that an unmarried woman's surname should never be listed in the "maiden name" field, and a divorced woman who returned to her maiden name should also have that name as her surname.

Ha ha! What a mess! I say "ditto" to that previous message left on your page. How did you ever figure out what the proper name is? I do not know what the heck I was doing but I appreciate you finding this mistake. I even have photos to add that were just sitting on my computer!

Thanks for letting me know about it.

Best regards,

Great detective work!! Thank you!

One would wonder how I could not see the mess when I finished the memorial.

Anyway, thank you.

Best wishes,
High Plains :)

Are you related to Margaret (69912467) and Kasper (69912403)Kloes? If not, would you transfer management to me as I am their Great Niece.

George Edward (Stirling) Sterling
Hi Chris,
Sorry it disrupted your research efforts. He was also known as George Stirling as noted here FamilySearch: Canada Births and Baptisms 1661 - 1959. Hope this helps you out. Since it has caused a problem tho I will change it to Sterling only on the heading, but there are many who reference him as Stirling also. Are you related to him? If so then we are related. There are often name variations, but I am only trying to keep it easy to find for everyone.
I don't know what you mean by back door since he was also know well as Stirling for his last name. When I enter the name Sterling in the cemetery it comes up. Also when I googled it as George Edward Sterling the memorial did show up. But I do want it easily found for everyone. Take care now.
Best Regards,

George Edward (Stirling) Sterling
Dear Chris,
Thank you for your input on my g-grandfather's memorial, George Edward (Stirling) Sterling concerning the last name. His last name was originally spelled Stirling, tho later changed to the English version of Sterling. His wife, my g-grandmother, Mary was buried under the spelling of Stirling. This is well known information in our family genealogy. There are often spelling variations of the last name, thus George has Stirling added on his memorial for those looking him up under the spelling or Stirling for their convenience.
Have a nice day now.
Best Regards,

Last year you "translated" a couple of gravestones I took photos of. I have come across another in another cemetery and was wondering if you could be so kind as to try that one. It is Find A Grave Memorial# 58941067. Thanks!

Yea... me & my son said the same thing! I am almost 59 years old, I cannot believe someone my age would be going into a situation like that. I know it was different times & hard work is all they knew then but.... man. Thanks for the acceptance, appreciate it. Mark
