I developed taphophilia in Nov 2007. I'm adding what I can, photos and accurate transcriptions, because stones deteriorate and there's no better time than now.|
On a philosophical note: I believe that an unmarried woman's surname should never be listed in the "maiden name" field, and a divorced woman who returned to her maiden name should also have that name as her surname.

|Carol and Kelly||RE: Borschiw Cemetery - new records for John and for Katherine Plishka - unmarked graves|
Thanks for the offer of the transfers.
At the moment I'm fine with you retaining the sites since you established them.
They are now part of my virtual cemetery and once the edits I sent in are in place they will be linked to family. I was merely surprised to see John and Katherine's names appear after all this time. I don't live in Alberta now and don't have much chance to follow up offline leads which is what I need to obtain more obscure details.

I was surprised to see records for two of my father's siblings, who died in infancy, which you just set up a matter of days ago. I had been trying to find more information on their birth dates before creating their records.
You noted "unmarked graves", which is correct, as the graves for young children often only had wooden markers at first. There is in fact a very respectful marker listing all those without marked graves at the Borschiw cemetery.
Since you got to this ahead of me, I will use the edits to add family information and my photos of both John and Katherine's names. Sadly I still don't have any birth dates as yet.

Thank you for giving this memorial a name. Id hoped if I could photo the degrading headstones, someone would take up the cause and give them names. Find A Grave is awesome in this way. Takes a village. Thank you for what you do

Thank you for giving this last resting place a name. I've been watching for years now as this old Filipino cemetery is not taken care of and info is getting loss along with the names and dates. My last visit to Hawaii, I thought Id better just photograph everything I could, and hope someone would be able to find the missing parts. I'm so grateful for your help & thank you for what you do.

Wow, how interesting, especially since I put a photo of the stone on their memorial! Must have been a very late at night entry....No other excuse! Thank you for spotting this I appreciate it very much!

Just wanted to say a hearty "thank you" for updating/adding/transcribing marker information to the memorials I have added that is written in Ukrainian.
It is very much appreciated. I'm glad to know someone is able to transcribe.

I too wondered about that so I checked the Alberta Genealogical Society list for her and they too have her listed as Baron. Perhaps I should add that it might be Baran as a "note"
Thanks for your observation.
Taphophilia is a wonderful disease to 'suffer' from isn't it?
