FRIENDSHIP
by Dinah Maria Mulock Craik

Oh, the comfort-the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person
Having neither to weigh thoughts,
Nor measure words-but pouring them
All right out-just as they are-
Chaff and grain together-
Certain that a faithful hand will
Take and sift them-
Keep what is worth keeping-
And with the breath of kindness
Blow the rest away.

Janine, thank you so much for the search for Charles and Bertha. I came across a handwritten note claiming that both were buried in East Midway, but as is often the case, it was obviously incorrect.

Janine, 30 seconds after I sent that last note, I said, that's not Amy, that's Janine and I check to see if I did in fact address it to Amy, and I sure did. Sorry about that!! So, Janine, I do hope this finds you well and take heart, I know springs going to be here to stay sooner or later, though I do think we are going to see more snow, and the warm weather should think the molasses out in both of us. Thanks, for all you have done for me and the 86th Janine. Wish we could get all of One Foot In The Grave together some time in a local cemetery. Even though I only actually met him once in person, I miss John. Take care and sorry about addressing that last note to Amy instead of Janine. I knew better. Baxter
