Hello, My name is Bonnie. Along with my sister we have been doing genealogy since 1996. We have traveled as far as Massachusetts to take pictures of ancestors headstones. My brother-in-law enjoys driving us to all places and we have him going every which way. LOL. I enjoy research and hope to be able to help others with theirs. I greatly enjoy this website to locate other family members we cannot always travel to. Through the years we have met a lot of very nice people, and found many members of our extended family. Hope we can continue to travel and meet new people. It is such a joy.|
If anyone finds a correction or wants to add more information or wishes to have a photo removed that I have entered please feel free to contact me.

|David Harrison||RE: Clarksville Cemetery Van Steenburg?|
Hi I had found different spellings of the last name common in those days I created new listings so if one checks for a different spelling they can find. As you can see here grave markers are different.
So as you can see thhttp://www.saratoganygenweb.com/Bixby_Edinburg.html#clark
Also checked with some members at Ancestry.com here is 1 response.
(Hi Dave, Good question. There are several versions of the same name. I've seen it as Van Steenburgh, Van Steenburg, Van Steenburgen, and my own Van Steensburg. There are many reasons for the spelling differences. Official record keepers (tax collectors, census, church birth records) would spell it as it sounded and depending upon how the person pronounced it and how the person heard it, the difference came about. It's all the same family though. I noticed the extra 's' snuck into my name around the time of my great-great, Frederick.
Through research I have found that the Dutch didn't take last names as seriously as we all do. They often took a name that described their profession, such as Timmerman (carpenter) or where they were from Van Steen Burg (of or from the stone village). Back in the 1600's Kingston NY where the family settled was know for the blue slate it quarried. The original ancestor was Jan Van Amersfoort (Amersfoort being a town in Holland). I've enjoyed the research and have found a few monkeys and outlaws hanging from the family tree over the years. I hope this info will be helpful.
I believe I've saved several of your cemetery photos to my collection. Thank you for posting.)
Thanks Bonnie , Dave

|Mary||RE: Taylor , James and Eletha Legate|
I'll look to see if I have a photo of Elthea, but I don't think that I do. James Taylor was my Great Great Grandmother's brother and the one photo I have of him was in her (Delia Elizabeth Taylor Smith)family bible. I do have a few photos of a Rose Taylor Dubois who I understand was a daughter of Herbert Taylor, granddaughter of James.

I added photo, also for Eugenia Doyle Van Derzee buried beside Nancy. They share maiden names and are 4 years apart, they may have been sisters.

While searching in the Old Burying Grounds in Gardner, MA, I was able to find Payson's parents headstone, but only a very small stone next to it with the writing on it so far worn down that it is impossible to know if it is that of Payson or not. Sorry I could not of been more help to you. Sandy

Hi, I saw a photo request for a McKee. Are you related to the McKee's in Missouri? I am related to them on my Mom's side.

I have edited the photo captions to show their correct readings. I have posted only these two. One is the plot and the other is the form I was given to show the location of the grave of Merritt Bassett. I hope this helps.
