Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm a fairly recent enthusiast of cemetery photography. I suspect becoming a site contributor and photo volunteer was inevitable.

I live in the Cumberland Mountains of Tennessee. My involvement in the Society for Creative Anachronism (the "SCA") means that I travel to other states - notably Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

When possible, I now "fit in" cemetery photography sessions while away from home.

Most of the memorials I have made are for people I am not related to. They've come about from picture-taking adventures and subsequently learning that no memorial existed. When appropriate, I add photographs to existing memorials.

A good number of the memorials I manage but did not make are my family. Some were created before I came along and were kindly transferred to me by other contributors who are not related to them. Others originated from the U.S. Veterans Affairs Office and were transferred to me by Find A Grave Administration.

A couple of memorials I now manage are of non-relatives for whom I suggested rather extensive editing based on information I had gathered ... and the non-relative originator chose to transfer management to me.

If you find that one of your relatives has a memorial made by me, I'll be happy to transfer management - WITHIN the 4-generation direct relationship guidelines as given in the Find A Grave FAQ. --->> Please do specify your exact relationship in the SAC! <<---

FAQ #162 states that the 4-generation direct relationships are as follow: "This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren."

Kindly DO NOT copy my photographs for use on other websites. Yes, I ***REALLY*** DO mean: DON'T post photographs that I have taken to Ancestry.com or to any other site.

Then again . . .
. . . maybe that isn't a temporary marker. It is so white it looks like paper. I enlarged it and maybe it is a permanent marker. I don't understand why they told me she's not there, unless that is a cenotaph.

By the way, I once saw the SCA in action at a local park. Very cool.

RE: Muriel Bodek
Ah, yes! I've been in touch with him; he's been very active at that cemetery. That looks like a temporary marker, though. I've taken many photos myself at Hillside, but I've never seen one like that, a temporary marker with both names on it. That is interesting. I'm glad you got a photo, at least.

The office staff told me that she is definitely not buried there, so you may want to call them yourself and if you believe they are in error, ask if you can email them that photo and explain to you why her name is on a marker!

Best regards,

B.J.

Muriel Bodek
Hello! I tried to get a photo today and was told that Muriel is not buried there with Gordon. He is definitely buried there, and they show that his next of kin was definitely his wife Muriel at the time of his passing. But she's not there. There could be a number of different reasons for this, but they could not tell me anything.

I'm sorry. You may want to change her memorial to "burial unknown" or else put a note in the bio section that she is not there but you're working on it, etc.

Good luck!

I have 3 other photos of Scotts that were next to the grave you requested. Let me know if you want them and how. Thank you.

Oshia Adkins
Leach Cemetery, I found a marker for Oshia B Adkins at Leach Cemetery in Anderson County, Tn but has slightly different birth & death dates. I thought it was a different person but then noticed the one you requested had same birth and death dates as spouse. Very unlikely. I suspect wrong dates. Let me know if you want me to upload the one I have. It could easily be a spouse.

RE: Marjorie Faye Whelchel - unmarked grave photos
Tangent, You are very welcome. Her name is spelled Welchel, so had a little problem looking for the photo I sent, but finally found her memorial. Feel sorry about the deceased that never got a headstone. Leon
