I grew up in Lexington, MA, which may explain in part my interest in colonial history. I retired a few years ago after 20 years as a computer programmer. I generally photograph colonial cemeteries or at least the oldest sections of them. I studied early New England history in the 90s. My cousins got me interested in genealogy a few years back. I've always loved photography.

I would like to thank everyone who has offered corrections and additions as any new information makes the memorials that much better. I always want more info.

Please, when offering corrections or additions, include the memorial number as I have created thousands.

And look at the rules set down by Find a Grave before asking for transfers.

I usually do all requests within 24 hours.

Feel free to use any of my photos. All I ask is that you credit me for taking them. Please email me if you're doing some for-profit thing. And do not post my photos from other websites to Find-a-Grave. Ask me to do it. Thanks!

RE: Anthony and Martha Potter
Thank you, I got lucky, sun was perfect and the recent 8MB allowance for photos means we can load higher resolution. Several of your photos - even at a lower resolution - were better and I didn't file. I went to handle the photo requests, but the sun was so good, I ran my battery out taking photos. The homework and diligence you put into the cemetery is quite something.

Regards,
Jack Parker

I have no source. Anything I sent you today is based strictly on the proximity of one headstone to another. I respect any decisions you make with regard to that.

Jack Parker

Perry family
thank you for providing research on Josiah and Elizabeth (Bigelow) Perry (see #27178810). I have used your research on them to add to Josiah's memorial, and have credited your work. Many thanks for helping me sort out this ancestry of mine

Hi Bill,

At this time I do not have an source on her maiden name but only what the manager of her Memorial# 16858195 has. I have searched and had no luck in finding any information.

PHOTOGRAPH.....
Hello,
I noticed that you posted a photo of Andrew Peters wife's grave.
By any chance are you the original photographer of Andrews grave photo?
The way that they were saved, the original photographer was no longer listed.

I know that these stones can disappear, AND THEN NO ONE WILL HAVE THEM, so I posted it on his memorial.

If it is yours please let me know.

Thanks for getting the information on Esther's memorial so promptly. It looks good. And I have corrected her brother, John's memorial for the death place. I appreciate all that you do. Darlene Findarle

Abigail Whiting Draper
Hi there! This question is about Abigail's burial place. Since you took the photo of her headstone, can you confirm that the headstone was at Westerly Burying Ground in Roxbury, MA?

The reason I'm asking this is because in the "Drapers in America" book, it lists Abigail as being buried at the First Parish Cemetery in Dedham, MA. I'm just trying to clarify for my records which one is correct. Thanks in advance for your time!

Jemima Foster Smith # 20306557
Howdy,
this is in reference to James Smith and Jemima Foster Smith # 20306557

Ipswich Deaths, page 676, shows JAMES SMITH, died 28 Oct 1805 age 66y per church records.

Ipswich Marriages, page 395, shows JAMES SMITH, married 6 Dec 1769, JEMIMA FOSTER, per church records.

Ipswich Births, page 142, shows JEMIMA FORSTER (SEE FOSTER), daughter of Jona[than] and Jemima, born 15 Apr 1742.

I am not sure who the parents are of James Smith. If he was 66y when he died, he may have been born in 1738 or 1739. Probably, Ipswich, since they married and died there.

As for Jemima Foster Smith's parents, I believe them to be:

Jonathan Foster, born 30 Nov 1704 Ipswich MA and died 3 Sep 1800, Milford, Hillsborough , NH
son of: Caleb Foster and Mary Sherwin.

and, Jemima Cummings, born 4 Jul 1704, Topsfield, Essex, MA and died 16 May 1751, Ipswich, Essex, MA
daughter of Isaac Cummings and Frances Sherwin

Thank you,
Karen Foster Montgomery
