Royal Reed - Willard Grove Cemetery Please add bio: Mr. Reed was born in the State of New York, August 12, 1807, graduated at Williams College in 1834, after which he studied theology and preached some years in New England. He came to Joliet with his wife in 1848 and was engaged as pastor by the Congregational church, which lasted 3 years. In 1855 he was president of the school board of this city. His wife also taught music in the public schools and was an accomplished musician. He moved to Chicago with his wife in 1865 where he engaged in business and the study of medicine. He had for some years enjoyed a considerable reputation in the treatment of cancers, in which he was as successful as any one has been. Losing his wife in 1873, he moved to Minooka, where he lived with his adopted son and where he died at the age of 79 years. During the last years of his life, he was afflicted with the loss of his eyesight. Thanks Kathi
RE: Eugene Ferguson in Aux Sable I spent 4 hours in Aux Sable today and had no luck . What I wonder is if there is a comprehensive list anywhere of who is SUPPOSED to be or THOUGHT to be there but MAYBE? unmarked . I saw an inscription above the doors on the stone building there for an Aux Sable Cemetery Association with 3 names . Does that association have any present day counterpart . And ultimately , since it still an active graveyard , who authorizes burials in Aux Sable . There were a fair amount of current day burials .
