Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born & live in Central Washington State. I had thought that my family was small but that has not been the case. Genealogy has taken me places that I could never have imagined. My family line includes Kobernik, Daily/Dailey, Bishop, Krider/Crider, Monninger, Foutz, Southward/Southwood, Swearingen, Hainline/Hanlein, Miller/Mueller, Guy, Waggoner, Ralls, Hart, Drews/Drefs & Griep. My Kobernik line comes from Germany (now Poland) and the others mostly from Fulton Co, IL; PA; MD; & VA.
I enjoy working on my family but also helping others to locate their ancestors. In 2012 I took photos of most of the graves at Terrace Heights Memorial Park, Yakima, WA. (A few of the temps cannot be read).
Please let me know if anything needs to be corrected, transferred (if not my family) or removed. You have permission to use any grave stone that I have posted. Happy Genealogy Hunting!

Joyce Hanna
Somebody finally got around to searching Zion Cemetery in Canby for me to see if Joyce might have any stone in that cemetery, like a memorial stone or something. There is not. No stone left there as a memorial or anything.
I added a note to her page as to why I am leaving her page up in that cemetery.

Hi Joan, share what you want. My family lines came from Virginia. I'm in Pennsylvania.Crider ties into my maternal lines. Fulk/ Dove, Whetzel, Ritchie, Feathers, Bear. Fulk's run , Virginia has a heritage day usually every April. Lots of families display family pics. Pat Ritchie is a well known historian.

RE: Joyce (Allen) Hanna
Hmmmm. I assumed you already made a page for her in Yakima. I did not try checking to see.
My thinking is that she needs to have two pages. That you should go ahead and make a page for her in the other cemetery.
If she does still have a stone in Zion Cemetery as a memorial stone then she needs to have a page in that cemetery to cover that.
If she does not have a stone left in Canby Cemetery she still needs to have a page in that cemetery that I will write in her Bio section that she used to be buried here and was later exhumed and reburied in WA. That way somebody else coming along later down the road finds her in the Canby Cemetery index and or the Canby and/or Oregon City newspapers saying that she was buried in Zion, then there will be a page there directing them to why she is no longer there and where she is now, otherwise somebody else is just going to make another page for her thinking she is in Zion Cemetery.

RE: Joyce (Allen) Hanna
OK, thanks for letting me know. Sounds like my relatives. They don't want to stay put even after they die. :-]
I put in a picture request for her for the location she is/was buried in, in the Canby Cemetery. We will see if she still has a stone in that cemetery or not that way.
I will let you know how that plays out when I find out.

RE: Joyce (Allen) Hanna
How the world did I get Joyce Hanna into Zion Cemetery?
She is in the Zion Cemetery, cemetery index. I added the location of her grave from the index to her page just now.
Gravestones can be tricky sometimes. Sometimes they are just "memorial stones" called Cenotaphs, and the person is not actually there. The stone is just in their memory. That way they don't have to cut the person in half and bury them in two places right?! Bad joke.
Anyway, she also has an obit in the Canby newspaper. There has been an obit index done for the Canby Herald newspaper.
I don't have access to the Canby paper.
The Canby cemetery index is accessible and downloadable off of the Canby City Hall's web site.
The Canby newspaper obit index is accessible on the Wilsonville Library web site and you can download that index from there as well.
The Wilsonville library has the Canby Herald on microfilm. If you asked them somebody there may be able to look Joyce's obit up and get it for you. An obit might say for sure where she was buried. If it says she was buried in Canby then I
would suspect the one you mentioned in WA may be just in her memory.
