PLEASE NOTE: I do not have a lot of time anymore to work on here, but when I do, I do my best to process all edits and go through all email requests. HOWEVER, when I get numerous emails on the exact same requests, this really bogs me down, for getting through all of the emails. It ends up delaying me getting to everyone who has a request, and eventually, I just start deleting emails that always have the same names. So PLEASE, send me one email per request. If your request can be handled by using the "edit" tab, please do so, this makes it a lot easier to take care of your requests.
If you have a more detailed request, such as looking for more information, I will do my best to help you, but please be patient. Constant emails to me with the exact same request will not help. As of right now, I am about 6 months behind with processing all of my emails associated with Find A Grave. However, I will get to you.
If I have a memorial of a person you are related to, and I am not, I will happily transfer management over to you. Just ask! My pictures are free for anyone to use in their research. I do this to help others find their family.
Thank you for making a memorial for William H Jessup!
I believe his middle name is Hunting (sometimes also spelled Huntting) after his grandmother Zervia Huntting Jessup. The family was from Southampton Long Island NY. His parents: William Jessup (1797-1868) and Amanda Harris (1798-1883) Willam Jessup's parents: Major Zebulon Jessup (1755-1822) and Zervia Huntting (1757-1835) Zebulon's parents: Deacon Thomas Jessup (1721-1809) and Mehetabel Foster (1719-1768) Zervia's parents: Samuel Huntting (1710-1773) and Zerviah Rhodes (d 1780)
Most of my information comes from The early history of Southampton, L. I., New York, with genealogies (1887) Author: Howell, George Rogers. Subject: Southampton, N.Y. -- History. ; Southampton, N.Y. -- Genealogy Publisher: Albany, Weed, Parsons and company PG322: Huntting Family. It is a secondary source, though I have corroborated some of it, with probate records from the New England Historic Genealogical Society
I believe Zerviah has a find-a-grave memorial here: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=Jessup&GSiman=1&GScid=719276&GRid=106533520&

Mae (McKinney) Horton Hi Elizabeth. I came across a Richard Horton in my tree. I believe his mother to be Mae (McKinney) Horton. Was wondering if you could help me with the connection. I saw you posted info to the gravesite for Richard. If I am correct, he would be my father's first cousin. Irwin and Harold came west around the 1900 timeframe. Thank you for anything you can offer. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org if you prefer to relay info that way. Thanks again, Starla
