Bio Photo NOTE: I am happy to transfer memorials to family members and/or friends so don't hesitate to ask!

As I'm sending a number of you changes* for your pages, additions, etc., please know that I do thank you even if I don't send each of you a thank you - THANKS to you all. (*The changes I'm finding are in the "Variety Obituaries" series of books.)

Author of "The Stars of Hollywood Forever," "The Stars of Hollywood Forever: 1901-2006" and most recently "The Stars of Hollywood Forever - A Who's Who of Hollywood's Final Resting Place" and "The Stars of Hollywood Forever Revisited." Check the latest version out on ""

* A note from Find a Grave: Tony Scott's book is highly recommended. Wonderfully detailed and accurate. I've been using it for years...and it's been updated by the author regularly!

RE: William Cullen
No,not a big deal, when you're done finding movie stars and creating memorials, let me know and I'll create memorials for the others. Of course at the moment the Columbarium is hot without any fresh air so when it gets cooler I'll start on it. Jim

RE: William Cullen
Sure! I stumbled across a trick for shooting those "tarnished" markers - use the flash and take photos from several angles. One of them usually turns out pretty good and then I can photo shop it to bring out the names even more clearly. Those markers really test my patience though, even for Wm Cullen I had to take about 15 photos. Jim

duh! Ethel May Halls
I forgot the last part. Jim S seems to gladly transfer memorials so you could ask him for a transfer and then do your own merging. Jim

Ethel May Halls
Hi Tony - I claimed your photo request for Ethel and started to work on her photos and found that a memorial existed before yours - #6464552 - that Jim Seidelman created. That one has a crypt photo. I'm going to post a long shot to it. Also I'm posting a close up and long shot to Frank Layton Halls memorial - he's next to Ethel (husband?).

RE: Sparling Family at Hwd Forever
Hey, Tony!

No, not relatives, just fulfilling a photo request, but wanted to offer additional pics if helpful.

Honestly, the Find A Grave community has been so helpful to me in my family history quest, I'll do just about anything to give back - seemingly just like you!

Happy to meet you.

Sparling Family at Hwd Forever
Hi there,

I just added photos of the Sparling family plot at Hollywood Forever, along with photos of their individual headstones.

Further, there was a request for a photo of "Maria Margaret" Sparling (1885-1917); I found a picture of a "Margaret M." Sparling with dates of 1886-1917, I'm guessing this is the correct person.

Finally, I have pictures of two other Sparlings buried near the family plot:

Raymond W. Sparling (1887-1956) and
Margaret Sparling Kingman (1909-1980) with her husband, Kenneth Kingman.

Please let me know if you would like these other photos as well.

Frank Curry
You do get around! I searched and searched for Mr Curry today but all I found was a suspiciously empty spot where his marker should be. We both know what that means - either no marker or a sunken marker. I'm going to post a photo of the general area with an arrow to show the approximate spot. Hope this finds you well! Jim

Hey Tony, Long time since we connected and trust this finds you well and still graving.

I went to Rosedale for the first time today. Go figure the first 10 photos I took were already done by some guy TLS. He gets all over the place.....LOL

Just wanted to take a moment to send my best regards...James
