Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hey there!

My name is Craig Caudill, and I like to dig up my ancestors (not literally, that would be kind of gross) as well as digging up ancestors for anyone that I can help. I live in Scott County, Indiana, but I have a lot of relatives in the southeastern corner of Kentucky. Some of the names I research is Caudill, Nicholas, Fields, Donahue, Logan, Craig, and many others. If you live far away and need photos of a stone in Scott County, I would be happy to try to find it for you. My sister owns Integrity Memorials in Scottsburg. She and I go "cemeterying" as a hobby quite often.

Linda Robbins/Barnes Cemetery
Hi Craig,

Love your photos. Have been able to make many corrections on info due to them. If you get a chance, look up Linda Robbins in the Barnes Com cem in New Wash...On the front-bottom side of the small stone is "Vest". Was wondering if you had noticed or new what that meant. I, too, love the old cemeteries and preserving the history and integrity of our ancestors.

Thanks,

Gail

Clarks Chapel Cemetery
Hi Craig,

I wondered if you could answer a question about Clarks Chapel Cemetery. Do you know if the main roads to the cemetery are paved or dirt? Usually it would not matter except for this trip I'm using a motorcycle. I have the GPS coordinates, and it does not appear to be too far from I-65, but sometimes those beautiful country roads can be hard to ride on.

Thanks,

Eddie

RE: Jesse W Caudill
Hello Craig, I'm sorry it took mne so long to respond to your message.I have been rather busy and had not checked out Ancestry for a while. the answer to your question is yes, my Grandfather, Jesse W. Caudill was the son of Benjamin "Paw Paw" Caudill, and Sarah Brashear. By the way,Sarah's middle name was apparently Sallie, or Sally depending upon the document used as a source.Just out of curisoty, how did you know about his nick name being "Paw Paw"? I discovered that info. in a set of family history books about Caudill family history called "Appalacha Crossroads", by Clayton R. Cox. There are three books to the Caudill part. This book contains about 24 pages that were written by my Grandfather,Jessie W.Caudill, discribing his childhood growing up in Kentucky! It's very interesting. I have copies of the original and there is much more information there.
As for Find-A-Grave. I made a memorial for my Grandparents, Jesse W. and Gertrude Caudill on there. I guess I didn't check out his parents? I'll have to see what I can do to start something. I may have some pictures or something?
I have only been doing geneology for a few years now, so I still have a lot to learn. It's greast to hear from you,let me know if I can be of any help in your search. It's a lot harder when so many of our family members are no longer with us so we can still ask them questions!
I also have a Family History book that has The Brashear Story, A Family History, By Troy L. Back and Leon Brashear.
Are you on Ancestry.com? if so maybe we could share some tree info? Thanks,DoraDianne(Dee Dee) BrennemanSnow

I am transferring this memorial to you. I am out-of-state with a life threatening family situation. I am asking that you please do not send any other EDITS for the rest of the month. I have limited access to a computer. Thank you for your consideration.
