"Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren".

"The goal at Find A Grave should not be to manage all of your family members. If you have information to add, you should suggest it to the current manager and they should make the changes."
~Jim Tipton, creator of Find A Grave.

I will gladly transfer within the guidelines and am more than happy to make corrections and additions to those memorials which fall outside of the guidelines. If memorials I've transferred are stripped of the obit or photos, I won't transfer anymore to that person. I do not transfer "all" of any name. Please use virtual cemeteries for the purpose of collecting "all" your relatives.
Please use the edit key for transfers and
changes or corrections.

Photos I take may be used, no need to ask permission, but please give me credit, as FAG photo takers are volunteers who provide their own gas and time to go take photos. Please put "Headstone photo taken by FAG Volunteer, Kathy #47737776" in the description box. Thank you, in advance.

I include the newspaper or funeral home when mentioned for future relatives who are trying to build their family trees. Even though other FAG members feel it is an easy way to "beat me" to the obituary. Shame on you. If you don't have the time to enter more than the date born and the date they died, maybe you need a new hobby. Every persons life should be remembered for more than just a couple dates.
A name with "unk" "unk" for the dates is no memorial at all. My purpose is a full and complete memorial.
So often I see-"my photos are not to be used on paid sites like". FAG is owned by and has been for several years now. This is what FAG says--Find A Grave is owned and supported by Ancestry. Our Terms of Service state that when you upload content to Find A Grave, you grant Find A Grave and its group companies the right to reuse that content on other sites in the group, including Ancestry users may include information found on Find A Grave in their trees on Ancestry sites and Ancestry may show information and images from Find A Grave in their search or other areas of the site. This expands the reach of the information collected on Find A Grave and helps other members of the Ancestry Community who are researching their ancestors.
And as for duplicates--"Because so many people add data to Find A Grave, there are often duplicate cemeteries and duplicate memorials added. This is a very common situation and is quite difficult to resolve in a way that keeps everyone happy. Before adding a memorial, search the cemetery to see if a record with that name has already been added. If you are adding a memorial for someone who has recently passed or who does not have a physical grave or memorial marker in a cemetery (perhaps their ashes were scattered), please do a general search on Find A Grave (do not enter a location) to see if a memorial has already been created for that person. If you find a memorial has been added but has incomplete or incorrect information, instead of creating a duplicate memorial use the tools provided to submit corrections, additions or a transfer request via the "Suggest A Correction" link under the 'Edit' tab on the upper right of the memorial. Never deliberately create a duplicate memorial". To me this means, send an edit, do not just make a duplicate. FAG has enough unintentional duplicates!

RE: Memorial# 161742013 - Typo in Name
Hi Kathy,
Please accept my sincere apology for having created a duplicate memorial entry for my Dad. I honestly did not know there was one already posted until I searched for mine. I was very surprised to find that someone had so very kindly and graciously created one for him. At first I thought a relative had done this but I was truly blessed when I realized a stranger did it instead.

Thanks so much,

Memorial# 161742013 - Typo in Name
Hi Kathy,
Thanks so much for my Dad's memorial entry. Would it be possible to change his middle initial from 'F', as in Foxtrot, to the letter 'E' for his middle name, Eugene?

Birth: Jun. 19, 1942
Death: Apr. 26, 2016

Duane *F*. White, age 73, of Algonquin.

Should be:
Duane E. White, age 73, of Algonquin

Dawn Petersburg (daughter)

RE: Edits to you
You sure did. Sorry, it was me who was behind!

Forgive me. It was 3 other gravers who haven't got on the ball.

I did a lot of edits of F.A.G. as I found "long lost" family in Minnesota.

I am so sorry.

About Martin Gadows Grave
Dear Kathy:

I knew Martin Gadow from boyscouts because I was in his Disabled Troop #105 and he was a good leader to have. We did a lot of fun crafts for the community like for Christmas we would make Christmas decorations for the Rudolph fundraiser in the fire station during the holiday season. All the troop members and leaders loved him like he was part of our troop family. We always called him Bud because he just adored the name he choose. It was also easier to say and spell because there were some people in the troop that could write or spell. Every time we saw him he had a smile on his face and was always in a good mood. We also went to Rhylander for a week to go camping at camp Tesomas. When we earned our badges we would meet at the Hotel Mead to have free food with the Rotary Club. Thanks Kathy for putting this on Find a grave.

RE: Donald Lee Day
Thanks for doing the transfer. That is my hope to eventually transfer him and some other relatives to my cousins once they get on this website.

Kathy I had already add this as this is a relative of mine. Thanks for your continued efforts for Find A Grave
