|Jerry N Bennett||Elusive Grave of Lewis Griffin Roper|
If you ever find anything on the subject I would be forever grateful to know it.
The subject, Lewis Griffin Roper is my GG Grandfather. He died 27 May 1847 from a fractured skull. He was struck by a slave with a hoe. His plantation was north west from Shellman, GA. On land lots 153 and 154.
I don't know if he was buried in a cemetery or on his plantation.
I thought you might be looking around in that area of Randolph County.

Thank you very much for being so thoughtful and transferring my grand aunt's memorial over to me. The gesture means a lot. And I want to give you a great big thank you for creating her memorial in the first place, and then for maintaining it. Your work doesn't go unnoticed. Thanks again.

You have Benjamin F. Sexton buried at Edom Cemetery in Edom, Texas. The Military record are those of my Great Great Grandfather Benjamin Franklin Sexton buried in Ola/Morrow Cemetery, in Kaufman, Texas. He died in the home of William Franklin Sexton. His dates are August 8, 1836 to Jan 20, 1929. His DC say he was born in Virginia and was 92 when he died. He lived with his family in Prairieville, Matilda Richardson Busby, Levi his stepson, Mandy Sexton Walker, William Franklin Sexton, and Texanna Sexton Kilgore. He is on the 1880 census in Kaufman, 1900 Census in Van Zandt, 1910 Census in Van Zandt, and 1920 Census in Van Zandt. A.D. Sapp son is living next to him on the 1920 Census. His father is Sampson Sexton from Scott County, Virginia. His brother is Robert Sexton who join the same unit as he did, born 1831 ScottCounty, Virginia. His military stone is at Ola/Morrow Cemetery buried beside his wife Tilda. I've contacted the Sextons at Edom and they are not related to Benjamin F. Sexton 1837 but to Ben F. Sexton 1892, son of Christopher R Sexton son of John Chamberlain Sexton who was also in the CSA. I need to know where the information you have came from, before our Sexton Reunion.

We are researching our family history and this cemetary has several of our relatives buried there. Can you tell us who we need to contact in order to get permission to go onto this private land to visit their graves? Our relatives include James M Taylor and Almira F Mary Parrish. We would appreciate any information you could give us.
