RE: James Wood
According to the 1860 census, he was born in Kentucky. However, the 1880 census for his son's lists their father being born in Tennessee.

John C. Wood
I transferred the memorial. Do you know if he is related to James Wood (1809-1870), also buried in the same cemetery? James Wood is my wife's great-great-great-grandfather.

RE: Mayme Alice Clarke Riley
First let me apologize for asking you to identify yourself on a public bulletin board. Had you wanted to do so, you would have. Is there a way that I can contact you privately without publishing all of my contact info on a permanent bulletin board (which I just realized.) I am not a researcher in the field of genealogy. I'm not even really a beginner, though it makes me a little crazy when people publish errors and won't change them when presented with facts. And that is one of the things that I have MOST appreciated about you. Everytime, I have sent information, you have taken it seriously into account. I deeply appreciate what you are doing. My interest is simple, I loved my family, nearly all gone now. It is wonderful to be able to go on-line, read about them, see pictures, and realize that others can do the same. And I would like to aid you in this process in anyway that I am able. I plan to go to Ok in April, and there I have many things. I'm not sure exactly all. I know that I have the obit that I told you about or a copy. I may have the marriage license between Mayme and Roy, I'm not certain. I have Bob's union card, and I think I may have Roy's discharge papers from the calvary. I would like to get copies of anything you want or need into your hands. And again, thank you for doing this!

Ok, so I should have asked this before, are these messages still published pubically or are they between the two of us now? I'm not a tech person.
I also have some papers that belonged to my grandfather Roy Riley that are from the Calvary, which he was in during the Spanish American War in 1898. I'm not sure exactly what I have, but I believe they are all originals.

I don't really understand how all of this works, but I first saw it on a "pedigree," that a cousin on the other side of my family sent me. The "pedigree" went back to a branch of the family with the last name Peacock.
I will be going to Ok. in April. While I am there, I will look for the dates of their deaths and any thing on their married names. I had the original of the obit., but I think it may be with some things in California. But I DEFINITELY have a copy of the obit that I can give you. It's great, it says something like "one by one the boys in blue are going..."
I'm Jo. Are you Sherry, Denise, or Jeff?
I have done my DNA on 23 and me, and I just found a 3rd. or 4th. cousin who is related to us through GW Riley. Her grand-father Carol Riley was a first cousin to my mother and her siblings. We have corresponded a bit.

RE: Mayme Alice Clarke Riley
I can eventually get those dates for you. I either have them at my home in Ok. or my sister has them in the old family bible. On a differenct note, can you do anything to help get Bertha Mayme Riley off of our family information on Ancestry? As you know, our Grandma was Mayme Alice Clark(e) Riley, born February 12, 1887 and died October 16, 1973. The Bertha Mayme that they have listed died in 1941 in Sacramento. That Bertha Mayme is wrongly listed as wife of Roy E. Riley and mother of my uncle Bob. Some of the documents that I have at home list grandma as Mayme Alice Clark and others list her as Mayme Alice Clark(e). I'm not sure which is correct. Though I do have George Washington Clark's obituary. Thanks for all you have done.

My grandmother had two siblings that are not listedhere: Gertrude and Florance. There was both a Flora and a Florence.

Is it possible to have this memorial transferred over to me (#47388241)? I am trying to maintain the O'Brien relatives on my dad's side and update the information. I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!
