I am an itinerant headstone photographer. I do my own genealogy and others and got hooked on cemeteries. I live in a large city and there are many cemeteries here. I try to go after requests that are made in cemeteries which are close to me and have less than 50% photographed.
It has come to my attention that most requests I try to fill have no stones on the plots. Instead of answering "sorry" or not responding at all, I have started to take pictures of the empty lot. People have done this for my requests also, and it gives an amount of closure.
