Howdy hi! While you're here, I'd appreciate it if you'd leave a flower for my grandma, Lola June "Nan" Beckstead. She passed away in 2009, and things just haven't been quite the same since then.|
My Dad passed away on August 15. He and my mom divorced when I was young, and I didn't get to know him as well as I would've liked, but I still talked to him often and visited when I could. Here's his memorial, and I'd appreciate any flowers :-). Christopher Alaric Montgomery
I got into Find A Grave after Nan passed away. There was some animosity within my family, and as a result, she never had an obituary in the paper and she was never interred with Grandpa like she wanted. I felt like everyone was trying to forget my Nanny. A couple years after her passing I made her a memorial on Find A Grave so I could have somewhere to go to remember her, and let everyone know what a great person she was.
After I made her memorial I made one for my grandpa, and my great-grandparents, and eventually I started taking pictures at local cemeteries and making memorials for people I didn't even know. I enjoy the research aspect, but most importantly I don't want anyone to be forgotten, just like I made sure Nan wasn't.
When I'm not out graving I'm an avid crocheter and crazy cat lady, and I'm rather fond of sitting around playing video games instead of getting a haircut and/or a real job. I've also recently taken up fishkeeping.
I spent the first 19 years of my life in Reno, Nevada, but on July 21, 2015 I packed up my 35 pets and moved to Phoenix, Arizona to pursue a degree in Mortuary Science at Mesa Community College.
Most of my ancestors hail from Utah. My family tree includes the following surnames: Beckstead, Butterfield, Channing, Childs, Cowdell, Dody, Haddenham, Jacobsen, Jenkins, Johnson, Montgomery, Reed, and Thompson.
I will transfer any of my memorials to anyone that requests them (except, of course, my grandparents, great-grandparents, and Dad). Whether it's out of guidelines or in bulk, for whatever reason - you have a connection to someone, you're researching the family, you walked their dog once in 1978 - you are welcome to manage. Also feel free to use my photos, there is no need to ask permission or credit me.
If you're not a member of Find A Grave but would like me to make corrections to a memorial, feel free to send me an email! Make sure to include either a link to the memorial(s) you want corrected, or the memorial number.
If I haven't responded to your correction/email in 3-4 days, send me a message here or send me another email! Sometimes old-style corrections get lost in the mass of "Edit Processed" emails, or I just flat-out forget (I have a bad habit of reading emails at 3 am, marking them as read, then going to sleep and accidentally forgetting about them, lol).

You are too sweet and "THANK YOU!"! I will be posting to yours as well. If you can, and it's not too much to ask, could you please sign for Dayko the Dog, Citation the Horse and Northern Dancer? Dayko was a hero dog who passed on the job, and the other horses are Kentucky Derby Winners that I created memorials for. Oh! I did one for Cecil the Lion as well, and F.A.G. now controls it, but you can sign his as well. Thanks you and God bless you!!

Hello Dear Lady! Thank you so much for your sweet note for my Fancy Furr, Ryngo, & Brownye. It means so much to me! Although I have 3 other cats now, and 3 dogs, my heart still misses my babies and I still love them so much and think of them each day! God bless you!!

It only takes a moment to say THANK YOU – but your thoughtfulness will be remembered a long time.
~If I got you a thank you card to match the size of your generosity, it wouldn’t fit in your mailbox~ anonymous

Thanks for the reply to my inquiry. I will note your comment about the Church records and try to find a way to locate a secondary source as well. At one time the Church would not allow suicides to be buried in their cemeteries. When this changed, I'm just not certain as yet. Thanks again.

Well done! Are you related to him in some way? And do you know his parents cemetery? I was triggered by the intriguing story of his brother Justin, who was buried in the -very impressive- Netherlands American Military Cemetery (with 8301 WW II graves of American soldiers) at Margraten in the extreme southeast of the Netherlands, which I visited three times, the last time with Betty DeLeeuw Capener from Utah, who is very remotely related to me and whose brother Wayne Royal DeLeeuw was buried there too. See Find A Grave Memorial# 56298083. I meanwhile mailed Anja Thijssen, who adopted about 30 years ago the grave of Justin, and asked her if she has more info on him and if has/had contacts with relatives of him in the USA.

I really can't thank you enough. I love the cute flower you posted on his memorial.
God bless you Alexandra.
|Evie (Greer) Schipper||Thank you very much.|
I can't thank you enough for this information. I had created a memorial, burial unknown for him years ago, linked to our parents and lots of family.
I just added him to the Mountain View Cemetery, Reno, Washoe, Nevada at http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=112921562
I really can't thank you enough. I am truly grateful to you for this wonderful information.
God bless you.
