Bio

I was born in South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana and I have been interested in my family history since the 1970s.

About 90 percent of the families I have listed are linked to either my materal or paternal side. The remaining links are related but I have not been able to find a connection to my grandparents.

My Hungarian maternal Galgoczy-Galgoczi heritage is traced to the 1650s, while my Hungarian paternal Farkas side can be traced to the 1850s. I have been published in newspapers for Hungary and Bulgaria in my successful efforts to locate, contact or expand on my quest for family members. Counting my greatgrandchildren, there are a total of fourteen generations accounted for on my maternal Galgoczi family!

I believe in sharing, for that is what ancestry is all about, the historical story-telling of families passed on through the generations. So if you see a family you'd like to link to, please notify me. And feel free to contact me if you find errors.

My ancestors have taught me a lot. Through the research and discoveries of their hardships, achievements, spiritual values, celebrations, personal losses and endurances to survive governmental upheavals, wars, land acquisitions, climatic disasters and disease epidemics – I found that they not only left a trail of tears and joy, but that they all had a story to tell. By posting their "story-trail" on the internet, I hope to be part of their legacy of history, a history shaped by love.
