Cox cemetery in Nodaway
Nancy, I am shocked! Has been a long time have not looked at this family and you kindly transferred a couple to me about 5 years ago. For some reason in my mind I thought some had bios on them and were linked and was so surprised to find they aren't or most of them. They are my g-grand uncles and aunts and cousins I would be happy to put and link information on them if you would like? I also have several photos for them. My second shock is that the person called Graves did not take or bully you out of them, she did with the memorials I had for the Cox family.

I will enter the info for edits for you and hope you will consider my request. Thanks so much

White Oak Cemetery
Nancy - I was looking for William Kemp Wharton or Whorton, his wife Mary Ellen and their children. He was the brother of Lucy Ann Wharton or Whorton Richards one of the first to settle in the Washington Twnship area in 1840. I found in a book where she had been buried with 2 of her children in the White Oak Cemetery but it was no longer. I saw where you had made a page for a George Whorton in a cemetery by that name. I am so curious now to know what you know about that cemetery. Do you know of anywhere I can find anymore names etc? Sharon Roberts Patching

Hi Nancy,
I saw that you posted the Hopkins Cemetery entrance photos and thought you might know who I could contact about finding persons buried there.

Maurice Egan
Dear Nancy,
Greetings from Ireland.

I have been researching members of the Egan Family from Causeway, Co Kerry who emigrated to Missouri.
As part of this research I found a Maurice Egan buried in St. Columba's cemetery, Nodaway. You have put this record online on

Do you have any information that would state that this Maurice Egan was from Causeway?

Any help you can give is sincerely appreciated.
Many thanks,

Amelia J. Perkins Dowell
I am trying to confirm whether Amelia Jane Perkins was the sister of an ancestor, Thomas Milton Perkins. According to his obituary, he moved from Licking County, Ohio, where he was born, with his sister, Mrs. John Dowell, and her husband, at age 19, to Wayne County, Iowa. Does this fit any information you have about Amelia and her husband? Also, how do you know her father was named William? This is different than the parents listed on Family Search.

RE:Oda O. Hubbell 1881-1910
There is an article in the Chariton Courier newspaper Nov. 25 1910, page 4, about the murder of this man and his family. This paper is available online on the Library Of Congress site "Chronicling America" Historic American Newspapers. I am not related, just reading this newspaper gathering more info on my own family from this area. I hate to pass by info that can contribute to other families stories, although some of it is sad, like this. I have found a tragic incident in my own family history, when initial info indicated some romantic, glorious notions.
