Bio

I enjoy researching graves in the local cemeteries. Sadly I can't photograph them anymore. You are welcome to use my photos of your relatives graves in your family trees. That is what they are for and I don't need to be credited.

Edits:
If you find errors in my memorials please let me know so I can fix them. I will edit my memorials if your information doesn't conflict with what I have found in my research, unless you have proof the old documents are in error (which we know often happens).

Also, for all of you out there who refuse to do edits unless documents are sent to you, this is the FAG rule (notice the word Responsibility):
"If the member is sending the edits in order to update the memorial, then as the manager of the memorial, you have the responsibility to research the edits that are sent by 'Suggest Edits' or 'Suggest other Corrections.'"

Photo Requests:
If you don't want people using your pics then please don't fill the photo requests. That is just plain stupid. If you are that hung up on your "copyright" then maybe you should just put your pics in your own private trees.

Non-Burials:
Try to find where they were buried, but if you can't be aware that when someone does find them in a cemetery then FAG rules state that your memorial will be the one deleted, no matter if yours was there first.

No Death Date:
Please don't enter memorials just because there is a headstone. If there is not a death date and they could possibly still be alive, be respectful and don't create a memorial. Many people plan ahead and buy headstones years before they die or their name is put on a spouses headstone. Just hold on to your pics until you find a death record for them.

Transfers:
I will gladly transfer memorials to relatives, as long as they aren't related to us, although I am running low on ones not related to us. I don't care about my numbers and I don't think any of us should be holding anyone's ancestors hostage.

If you ask for a transfer it is nice if you can add a bio, if there isn't one. After all... that is the purpose of you taking possession of a memorial of a loved ancestor, isn't it? To tell their story... not to just collect empty memorials. It is just disrespectful not to add something to your ancestor's memorials. That way no one is forgotten, plus it helps others in verifying their trees. Linking memorials together also helps all of us out here trying to unscramble mysteries.

It is also disrespectful to take an ancestor's memorial and then delete any bio that was there (which some of you are doing!). You can't change their history, even if you are embarrassed by it. It's their lives... not yours. For example... one of my greats is famous for beheading his wife. Another one owned slaves. I am not proud of either of them, but I can't change history because it embarrasses me. So drop your egos.

Let's all work together, play nice, forget about your numbers and make this a place where people can find all their missing links.

As an added note... if you email me please tell me who you are talking about. I don't answer emails that just request that I email back with no explanation of why I should, or requesting that I call. I don't call anyone.
