Bio

NOTE:
With sadness we note Ellen lost her fight with cancer and she died April 17, 2020.

As of November 2019 my lung cancer has recurred, again, and has metastasized to my brain. We're treating it very aggressively, but the prognosis isn't good. Prayers &c. would be appreciated.

As of December 2018 I've got a new cancer, and am going through chemotherapy, followed by radiation. Please be patient, and please try not to send dozens of SACs or Edits all at once.

As of April 2016, I've made it through surgery and chemotherapy, and have been cancer-free since August 2014. I'm very hopeful, and very appreciative of all the words of kindness and encouragement.

As of August 2014, I'm dealing with my mother's recent death and my own recent cancer diagnosis. Please be patient with any suggestions / edits you send. Thanks in advance!

[PLEASE read (starting with para. 2) before contacting me about a memorial; it will save us both time and trouble. Thanks!]

I'm a history major and a lawyer (University of Virginia, Emory University;) a fanatic about live music (Todd Rundgren, Gene Owens, the blues;) and a photographer. I'm a wife and a mother (a son who recently graduated from law school at the University of Georgia and a daughter who recently graduated from Tulane.) I have a house full of rescued dogs and cats.

If I'm the caretaker of a memorial for someone who was closer to you than to me, I'll consider transferring that memorial to you; feel free to ask, but please include DETAILS as to your relationship to the deceased.

If you have additional information or links that you want added to a memorial, please send details and DO include links to your SOURCES: I'm unlikely to make additions/links if I can't verify their accuracy

All requests for transfers, all suggestions, and all corrections MUST be sent via the edit tab on the memorial in question. If you use the "Other" option you'll be able to send an explanation of, and links to, your sources for suggested changes to a memorial.

If you need to write me at my email address about something else (e.g., a suggestion or correction I've sent you,) PLEASE include a copy of any relevant correspondence and a link to the memorial(s) in question.

If I've posted a cemetery photograph that you want to use on Ancestry, please feel free to do so IF and ONLY IF you include the entire caption as the photograph description. You MUST get my express permission to use any of my photographs OTHER than those taken in cemeteries.
