Born on a small farm on Teaberry Road (Rte. 45)in Ronceverte, West Virginia, USA. Graduated Greenbrier High School in May, 1950 and joined the United States Air Force in Jan, 1951, during the Korean War. Honorably discharged in November, 1953 and entered West Virginia Institute of Technology in Montgomery, West Virginia and graduated with a B. S. Degree in Electrical Engineering. Started my work career with the State of West Virginia.......working on the Interstates 77 and 64 in Charleston, WV. Then moved to Richmond, Virginia where I worked as a Senior Utility Engineer with the Department of Public Utilities for the City of Richmond, retiring in October, 1990. Currently working on family genealogy....playing around with photography and hunting and fishing when I have a chance. Married to Linda Sue Wolfe, Charleston, WV...have two children, Kevin Blane and Daniele Rene' and two grandchildren, Justin Taylor Akers and Katelyn Nicole Akers...children of my daughter.
