Our Family: My in-depth research began years ago when our children asked, for a school project, "Where is our family from?". At that time, we could only confirm, "England, Finland, and Germany". Since then, we've learned that our families also immigrated to America from Ireland, Scotland, Scandinavia, Russia, France, and Spain. My husband's Southern families were among the founders of Jamestown, Virgina, while some of mine came over on the Mayflower to settle Plymouth, Massachusetts, and others, St. Augustine, Florida. Memorials: Yes, I am related to most of the memorial pages I manage, however, I am also willing and able to help edit or manage additional pages as needed. I try to help out wherever I can, whether related or not. For me, the ultimate goal here at Findagrave is to share cemetery records and plot numbers, add gravesite photos when possible, confirm/correct vital info, link family members, and, last but not least, add personal bios or obituaries which may help confirm all of the prior. Please let me know if you have additions or corrections to the pages I manage by using the edit tab at the top of the page.

Family Trees: Although I agree with the sentiment that Findagrave is not Ancestry, and Ancestry is not Findagrave, I also believe that TOGETHER they often prove to be an invaluable resource in confirming vital information for BOTH. Not to mention, the ability to accurately link family members who are buried in different locations, which will help future generations be able to locate all of their family graves... at Findagrave.

Transfers: If you are more closely related to someone than I and are able to manage their memorial page please request a family transfer in the same way (edit tab) and include your family relationship so I can transfer them to you. I look forward to meeting you and learning more about how our families are connected.

Family Surnames: A great way to group your relatives together, or graves of interest, is to use the Virtual Cemeteries feature. If you are interested in the surnames in our family this is the easiest way to locate them. :-)

Photos: You are welcome to copy any photos taken by me for your family tree, memorials, or personal use. Please include the Findagrave Memorial # so they will remain connected. If you wish to use a photo that is not by me please contact the member that added the photo for permission.

Copyrights: Even though the gravesite may belong to your family, the photo taken belongs to the photographer. So, it's not just being courteous, it's a legal issue. If you have copied photos from Findagrave and posted them anywhere else without including the "Photo by..." and the Findagrave Memorial #, please go back and add this information.
