I live in North Mississippi, but grew up and went to school in Memphis. I'm currently doing research on 3 family trees.....my mother's side, The Bookers and my father's side, The Lees, and my late husband's, The Johnson's. It's very interesting. The cemeteries can give us much important information. All of my Mother's family is from down in Tippah County, MS. Mostly Ripley and Oxford. In my research I found that William Faulkner is a 1st cousin 1x removed. My Daddy's family is The Lee's. Found that Gen. Robt.E.Lee is my 3rd cousin 4x removed. Also Richard Henry Lee and Francis Lighfoot Lee, brothers, who both signed the Declaration of Independence are also my cousins. As is their father Thomas Lee, who was the first Govenor of Virginia.
