What other hobby can boast that it is free, gets you outdoors, involves photography & computer skills, helps others, and lacks crowds, traffic and parking problems? Not to mention that the dead will rarely tick you off as much as the living will. :-)

Please understand that for me this is a hobby to get me outdoors and that I enjoy the peace and serenity that cemeteries offer. I only put on memorials for people I know or have some connection to--I am not doing a huge research project or making this my life's work. I am not looking to list huge numbers on FAG or to document entire cemeteries. I leave that to others.

Mostly I like to fulfill photo requests. But I do it in an unorthodox and nontraditional way. I do not look at plot numbers nor do I visit cemetery offices. I simply run off a list of requests, look at the names, and then ask which souls want to be found--amazingly, the ones who do then "pop up" in my line of vision or something draws me to the tombstone. I simply drive around slowly and wait to be led. It works for me and it makes me feel honored to be connected to the energy of past souls.
