I am a retired police officer but still work full time. I got interested in FindAGrave.com when I started searching my family roots on Ancestry.com. With over 8000 family members in my tree, I needed photos of relatives all over the United States. When I received assistance from members of FindAGrave, I joined and started working the many cemeteries in my area of Sussex County (northern) NJ. I pick a cemetery and fill all current requests and then continue photographing stones, especially old ones, hard to read or even broken or buried. I unearth, reconstruct pieces and/or process stones to make them legible and then photograph them for the future of Find@AGrave. I then move on to the next one. I have since moved to the Richmond area of Virginia and plan on continuing my endeavors there. Good luck in everyone's searches.
