Bio

I enjoy finding out about my family history and helping others with genealogy searches.

Families I am interested in are: Cvetic, Cvetich, Krajnc, Svetic, Svetich, Swetic, Swetich, Swetish, Getzan, Getzen, Gecon, Gasparovich, Gaspar, Sweet, Ribnikar, Sholer, Kampotich, and Kamp. Also: Hodge, Flett, Sinclair, Anders, Biever, Ligler, Dobbin, Merle and Baumeister.

My paternal Grandfather, Joseph Sweet, and his siblings; John, Matt, and Ann (Gasparovich) lived in Calumet MI after coming from Lukovdol, Croatia (1890's). Their last name was Cvetic, and their parents were Pavao Cvetic + Mara (Grguric). At various times they used Cvetich, Svetich, Svetish, Swetich, Swetish, and who knows what else. He married Mary Getzan in 1909 in Calumet. My grandfather legally changed his name, in Chicago in the '20s, to Sweet.

My maternal Grandfather, Michael/Miha Ribnikar, lived in Chicago, after coming from Trzic Slovenija. He married, in 1912 Chicago, Louise/Aloysia/Lojska Krajnc also from Slovenija. His siblings; Joseph and Johanna (Peter) Sholer also came from Trzic and settled in Milwaukee and Chicago respectively. My uncle Mike Ribnikar married Betty Jo Dobbin.

My God-parents families: Merle and Baumeister.

My Wife's family: Hodge, Flett, Sinclair, Anders, and Biever. We visited Scotland, home of the Fletts and Sinclairs in 2016 and added many photos from there.

Sadly my wife Sharon passed on January 16, 2017.

PS - To add an internal link to another memorial page in the biography section, you would need to type the following- BUT also read the note for what else you need to do:
a href="https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=XXXXXXX"Name

Note: XXXXXXX is the memorial number of the memorial you want to link and "Name" is what will show up on the screen as the link.

You will need to add a LESS THAN SIGN in front of the a at the beginning, add a GREATER THAN SIGN in front of NAME, and add a LESS THAN SIGN with an /a and a GREATER THAN SIGN after NAME.

The SIGNS and /a were ommited so you could actually see and copy the code. [I put this here for reference because I use it often and it's easier to find here than looking in the FAQ section. Thanks to KChaffeeB (#46506715) for the idea of putting this linking tip on my profile page.]
